Eggplant ash
Content:
Probably, many summer residents know that ash from wood or straw acts as a natural fertilizer for seedlings. It contains many essential and beneficial nutrients. Fertilizer helps in protecting plants from many diseases and insects. Ash also has a good effect on eggplants. Eggplant ash helps make the soil alkaline and the plants can take root better after replanting. It is for this reason that ash is so widely used as an eggplant feed.
Eggplant ash: how to prepare fertilizer?
How can a fertilizer such as eggplant ash be made: dry powder should be poured into the pit, the depth should be about 15 cm and added on top of the earth. Depending on the growth, you need to calculate the amount of fertilizer.
The solution must be poured into the furrows and covered with earth. For 1 bucket of water, add 100-150 g of fertilizer. For one bush, it will be enough to apply 0.5 liters of fertilizer.
Eggplant ash is not compatible with fertilizers that contain nitrogen. Namely: with manure, saltpeter, urea, ammonium sulfate. As a fertilizer, do not take painted wood, garbage, newspaper, it contains heavy metals and chemicals.
It will be nice to take ash for eggplant from sunflowers and buckwheat. This is due to the high potassium content, which eggplants especially need.
Eggplant ash, taken from oil shale and peat, is also suitable, but, unfortunately, it does not contain many useful elements. To make the ash better absorbed, you can add urea.
Feeding eggplants with ash - nutritional supplements
You need to mix ash (1 tablespoon) and urea (1 tablespoon) and add this mixture to 10 liters of water and add eggplant under the roots. But care must be taken to ensure that such fertilizer does not fall on the foliage. This fertilizer contains a large number of essential elements: potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium.
This fertilizer should be applied during the flowering and fruiting period. It is necessary to add under each bush to wet soil, 0.5 liters for each bush. Complex fertilizers will allow you to get a good and rich harvest.
For the first time, add the eggplant ash when the first leaves appear. To prepare the solution, you need to take ash (1 tbsp.), Superphosphate (1 tbsp.), Ammonium nitrate (0.5 g). All ingredients must be mixed in 1 liter of water (it is necessary to take settled water) and fertilizer must be added under the eggplant stems.
After about 2 weeks, you will need to fertilize with the same fertilizer composition. But the dosage is doubled. Before planting seedlings, you will need to carry out one more top dressing: you need to take potassium (8 g) per 1 liter of solution.
· We use an infusion that contains wood ash. The infusion with the use of wood ash is rather quickly absorbed and helps to strengthen the root system. But, to prepare such a solution, you need to stock up on a lot of time.
In order to prepare the solution, you need to take ash (150-200 g) and dilute it in 10 liters of water. Everything will need to be mixed well and left to infuse for a week.
Apply top dressing when you water the plants. It is also possible to use it as a foliar dressing using a sprayer.
· We apply the uterine infusion. The preparation of this solution is a rather complicated process, but it is more effective. To do this, you need to take ash (1 kg) and dilute it in 10 liters of water. Then put on fire and leave to boil for 20 minutes.
After that, take 1 liter of the prepared solution and dilute it with 10 liters of water. And it is with this solution to carry out wet feeding of the eggplant. Such a solution can be stored for a long time without losing its beneficial properties. In order to achieve the best effect, boric acid can be added.
When and how to feed eggplants with ash before planting
In order for the seedlings to take root better in a new place after transplanting, it is important to add ash directly to the soil. The fertilizer should be sprayed directly onto the soil. You can leave it right like that, as mulch, or you can loosen the soil a little.
Moisture will affect so that the fertilizer penetrates into the soil. But the most important thing is the observance of all proportions (per 1 sq.m.): sandy loam soil - 100-200 g of ash, loamy soil - you need to increase the amount by 3-4 times. But you don't need to apply too much fertilizer.
The soil can change its alkaline properties, which negatively affects the plant.
We use leaves as fertilizer
In order to prepare eggplant ash using leaves, you need to take the leaves of the fruit tree. Take a metal barrel or box and set fire to the leaves. But make sure that no water gets into the container.
This can cause alkali formation. The finished ash should be placed in closed polymer bags or boxes.
As you probably could understand, seedlings have a good effect on seedlings, improves their quality and improves development, and also affects the plant's immunity from various diseases.
The big plus of eggplant ash is that the fertilizer is ash, you can cook it yourself. It doesn't take much time and effort.
