Proper care for green violets
Green violets are rather capricious plants that require compliance with certain conditions, without ensuring that the plant may refuse to bloom, the colors become faded or even die. The flower needs proper watering, while water is added exclusively to the pan. With strong moisture, rot will begin to develop on the roots of Saintpaulia. It should be grown at a temperature not exceeding +24 degrees.
No less important for violets is the illumination, which should be good, especially during the flowering period.
Every month you need to feed the flower with special fertilizers. The size of the pot should not be large, this can limit the active growth of the roots and direct forces to the development of the aboveground part of the plant, including flowering.
The transplant should be carried out annually and use special earthen mixtures that are sold in nurseries, in specialized stores, and which you can do yourself. For the earthen mixture, you will need sphagnum moss and sand, which are mixed in equal proportions. For good drainage, you need to add a little broken brick or pebbles there.
The plant propagates easily, so you can decorate your home with lots of violets. It is best to use leaves for this. It is necessary to select a sheet, carefully cut it off, place it in a container with water or in a glass with earth. As soon as the roots are visible, the sprout is transplanted into its pot where it can constantly grow.
Diseases to which violet green is susceptible
Like many other indoor plants, the violet can get sick. There are various diseases, but most of them are extremely rarely exposed to the plant, it is worth noting only those that are especially common.
1. Late blight - occurs in case of high humidity. You can avoid it with the help of frequent ventilation and compliance with all the rules for watering.
2. Powdery mildew - you can recognize the disease by the whitish spots covering the leaves on their upper part. A disease can occur if temperature drops often occur and watering rules are not followed.
3. Gray rot - this disease is caused by low temperatures and excessive watering.
As for pests, aphids or spider mites can be found on the plant. To combat these harmful, there are many means, both based on chemical components and folk remedies from natural products.
