The location of the berry plant for planting on your site must be planned in advance. To do this, you will need to take into account many factors, such as the level of light, moisture, soil type and, of course, the future neighborhood of the plants.
Berries love the sun a lot, so don't choose shaded areas. Pay attention to the fact that nearby trees, shrubs or tall plants do not create a shade for the future berry grower, this is especially important for garden strawberries. Remember also that the period of flowering and fruiting of berries falls on the end of spring, the beginning of summer, so it is in this time period that they need the sun. So you need to take into account the environment in which your berries will blush. The fact is that in spring, when laying berries, it is not always clear whether the sun will peep at it in summer, since all the trees are without foliage, and many plants in the neighborhood simply have not grown yet. Therefore, simulate a summer day in your head on your site and remember where the sun rises in the summer and where it sets, and how the piece of land that you have chosen for planting, for example, strawberries, is illuminated.
Berries can also be planted in the aisles of a young garden. However, over time, as the trees grow, this will create additional shadow. But you should not plant berries in the sun, since in too hot summer you will have to water the area almost daily.
The area under the berry should preferably be flat, or with an inconspicuous slope. It is best to plant berries on the southwestern slopes, but use the eastern and southern ones for raspberries.
Berry: features of the species
When planting certain plants, we must take into account the individual characteristics of the culture. This means that you can only take care of them in a strictly defined way. One of the main criteria in caring for plants is the choice of neighboring crops, in other words, what will surround them. For example, black currant grows well near a variety of shrubs, while viburnum loves lonely planting, take into account the density of the placement of plants. Raspberries, for example, are planted in rows at a distance of half a meter from each other, and the same currants are planted much further. Gooseberries are recommended to be planted from the berry at a distance of two meters.

Planting berries and preparing the soil
When laying bush berry or strawberry berry, it is important to take into account the level of occurrence of groundwater. So, for bush species, groundwater should not lie closer than one and a half meters from the earth's surface, and for garden strawberries - up to one meter. If these proportions are not met, and the water is higher, then the crops are recommended to be planted on soil bedding. Also, when laying a berry, you must remember that the soil in this place should be nutritious, soft and loose. Sometimes organic fertilizers such as manure, fallen leaves or ash are added to improve the structure of the soil.
Before planting the berries, the site must be carefully weeded out, since it is better not to touch the ground later until the plants finally take root. Plant crops in rows so that in the future you can easily weed or huddle them. This rule also applies to garden strawberries. Despite the fact that this culture often occupies huge areas in a chaotic manner, discarding a mustache with rosettes, it should still be transplanted into rows. This will make it easier for you to harvest, weed, and feed your plants. Sometimes, before planting a berry, leguminous herbs are pre-planted on depleted soil in order to enrich the land with nutrients. A month before planting the plants, it is advisable to dig up the ground or plow, and for bush berries, plowing should be deeper. Remember: the larger the berry, the deeper you need to loosen the soil. Choose your location wisely and plant the right plants!
