The Narodnoe apple tree is an intensive variety, the ripening period for apples is early autumn. The culture was brought out on the basis of the All-Russian Research Institute of Horticulture named after I. V. Michurin, the process was led by Professor S. I. Isaev.

To obtain a novelty variety, we crossed the varieties “Folding" and "Bellefleur-Chinese". The purpose of breeding is to improve the characteristics of the Papirovka variety, namely: to increase immunity to scab, to increase the marketability of apples, to increase the shelf life of fruits.

From the Bellefleur-Kitayka variety, the Narodnre apple variety got delicate dessert tastes. The author of the variety, SI Isaev, called "Narodnoye" the most delicious of the forty varieties that he created.

Also, the Narodnoe apple variety has been listed in the state register since 1964, zoned in the Russian Center and in the Middle Volga region.

Apple tree growth.

The apple tree of the Narodnoye variety is medium-sized, the crown is rounded, slightly spreading. The variety belongs to semi-dwarfs. An adult apple tree grows up to four and a half meters. The crown is similar in width to the height, it is four to four and a half meters in diameter.

Branches and trunk.

Painted brown. Shoots are vertical, thickened, sparse, do not thicken the crown.

Shoots grow thirty-five to forty-five cm each year.

Foliage.

The leaves of the Narodnoe apple tree are light green in color, wide, egg-shaped or elongated. The leaf blade is of medium size, the edge is wavy, in the form of denticles.

• Yellowish-green color, juicy, aromatic, dessert taste, sweet-sour. The fruits are rich in dry matter (thirteen percent), ascorbic acid (7.7 mg per hundred grams), and also contain sugars (11.4%) and titratable acids (0.4%).
• The tasting score is 4.5-4.75 points.
• The yield indicator of the Narodnoe apple tree is high, equal to one hundred and sixty kg from an adult apple tree.
• Winter resistance is at a good level, the variety can withstand temperatures up to minus thirty degrees.
• Immunity to diseases is average, to scab - above average.

The optimal time for planting the Narodnoe apple-tree variety is the autumn season, namely, the last days of September-the middle of the second month of autumn. The variety is resistant to frost, it quickly adapts to low temperature conditions in winter.

If you plant a plant in the spring (from the 15th of April to the 15th of May), then it is necessary to water the seedling in a timely manner for its survival.

The Narodnoe apple variety should be planted in places that are well lit, the soil should be filled with nutrients, and it should also allow air to pass through well.The interval between apple trees should be at least two and a half to three meters.

Fertilization.

Top dressing is not essential for good cultivation. Apple variety Narodnoe is unpretentious to the composition of the soil. If the shoots grow poorly, then nitrogen is introduced in the spring. To increase yields or during the transition to periodic fruiting of an adult apple, phosphorus and potassium are introduced in the fall.

• It is required to remove all the growth that grows below the graft site. These branches are the rootstock of an apple tree, which does not have the qualities of the variety you have purchased.

Also, the advantage of the Narodnoe apple variety is self-fertility. Fruit setting occurs: in hot and rainy seasons; at the end of the summer of bees; if there are no other apple trees nearby that are blooming at the same time.

The yield indicator of the Narodnoye apple tree reaches one hundred forty to one hundred and seventy kg from one adult apple tree. Considering that the tree itself is small, semi-dwarf size, its productivity is high. The culture is one of the rare varieties of autumn ripening, the fruits of which can be stored for a long time. Apples with intact skin can be stored right up to January days!

Dwarf rootstock variety

The natural semi-dwarf apple variety Narodnoye can be grafted onto a dwarf stock. This is required to create a compact apple tree that can grow in areas with high groundwater flow. For this variety, these rootstocks are rarely used, because the apple tree itself has the advantages of dwarf trees: it is fast-growing, gives high yields, and is notable for its small size.

A seedling on a dwarf rootstock requires special care. Watering, pruning and fertilizing each year two to three times during the season should be done.

In the Ural and North-West regions, a high probability of freezing is observed in one-year-old branches, especially shoots that have not matured before stable cold snaps. For a comfortable apple tree planting, choose places that are protected from the harsh winds blowing from the north.
