Many scientists - breeders have worked on the winter saffron apple variety. The plant was officially registered in 1994 with a recommendation for cultivation in the Siberian regions. However, the apple tree began to be actively cultivated in plots throughout the Altai Territory.

Their surface has a bright dark green color, wrinkled and at the same time glossy. There is pubescence on the reverse side of the leaf. Along the edge, the entire leaf plate has jags. The sheet itself is wavy. The leaves are attached with small petioles that have small stipules. Villi can also be seen on the petiole.

The fruits of the Winter Saffron apple tree are very small, about 50 g each. Their shape is round. The color of the peel is yellow, however, the whole apple is covered with a bright striped blush, so it looks very attractive from the side. The subcutaneous points are clearly visible. The fruits are attached with short stalks of small diameter. Each apple has a small funnel.

The calyx on the fruit is wide enough. Inside each fruit are seed chambers with a large number of seeds. The fruit tastes a lot of juice and is very sweet. The pulp is characterized by a creamy shade. The fruits of the winter saffron apple tree contain a large amount of useful substances: sugars, acids, pectin, tannins, vitamins C and R - active substances.

The crop can be harvested at the beginning of September. Moreover, its shelf life is more than 140 days. The fruits are consumed fresh, and also used for harvesting.
