The fruits begin to ripen in the second half of September. They are very firmly attached to the branches, so they may not crumble for a long time. But still, if the apples are overripe, then they begin to fall off. Apples can be stored for a long time, until the very end of March. If you plan to send apples for storage, then the harvest must be harvested by hand. If further processing of fruits is planned, from which mashed potatoes, preserves, jams, juices will be prepared, then a mechanical method of collection can be used.
The variety can be successfully grown on the rootstocks of the eastern apple tree and on the rootstocks that reproduce vegetatively. The variety cannot be called demanding on the soil and place of growth, but it has some preferences. Best of all, Winter MOSVIR grows in ventilated areas where there is a lot of sunlight. Golden Delicious, King Davis, etc. are suitable as pollinators for the variety.
Winter Mosvir can be called a high-yielding and early-growing variety. Fruiting of the tree begins at 4-5 years of age. The maximum yields can be harvested from trees that are about 12 years old. An average of 200-300 kg of fruit can be harvested from one 12-year-old tree.
When grown in the North-West Caucasus, the variety showed high winter hardiness. The variety is quite resistant to disease. It is extremely rarely affected by powdery mildew, has medium resistance to fruit rot and high resistance to scab.
