Apple tree Pavlusha
Content:
Cultivation of apple trees on the territory of Siberia several years ago was not possible, however, thanks to the long and diligent work of breeding specialists, a large number of apple varieties were obtained that are adapted to the climate of Siberia. The favorite variety of apples among Siberian summer residents is this particular variety of apples - the Pavlusha Apple tree.

The Pavlusha apple trees, depending on the cultivation regions, can be ranked as both middle summer varieties and late summer varieties. The harvesting process takes place every year, bringing in a large amount of harvest. It boasts a good level of resistance to cold and frost, in severe winter seasons there are cases with freezing of the apple tree, but the next season the apple trees are completely regenerated. This variety of apples is fast-growing, the first fruits are harvested when they reach the age of three to four years. Has a satisfactory level of resistance to several known diseases.
The fruits of the Pavlusha apple tree have good taste and delicate aroma. The harvest time is short, from about sixty to ninety days.
For non-harmful and longer storage of fruits, it is advised to follow the recommendations below:
- the establishment of a temperature indicator of no more than one degree Celsius.
- distribution of apples by size and quality.
- placement on cabinets or in boxes in a single, but sometimes it is allowed in a double - triple layer.
- the use of paper or wood shavings so that the apples do not come into contact with each other.
Pavlusa's apple trees require cross-pollination during the flowering process. As a result, it is worth paying attention to one or more planting materials of different varieties of apples, which will pollinate each other.
The selection of the best pollinating varieties, for example, "papirovka" or "Antonovka", contributes to the laying of a larger amount of the crop. It is important that the seedlings are not damaged or infested, they must yield every year and have the same flowering time. If there is not enough territory for group planting of apple trees, the process of pollination of one tree will take place with neighboring apple trees growing nearby.
Apple tree Pavlusha: characteristics of the variety
The Pavlusha apple tree has a pyramidal crown, the density, which is estimated as average, grows up to three hundred centimeters in height, has a width of two hundred and fifty centimeters. Strands that grow straight but infrequently grow vertically. The crop is laid on complex and simple ringlets, as well as on extended and short branches with a slight pubescence of a brownish color.
The foliage is dark green in color, the shape of a wide oval and a sharp tip, there are small tubercles, curved at the edges downward. The stipule is located at the base, sickle-shaped, large in size.
The apples are wide, rounded, slightly flattened, placed on a curved small fruit stem. Fruits are yellow and green in color at the same time with a slight pinkish tint, subcutaneous points are small, moderately pronounced. Weight varies from forty to one hundred and ten grams, depending on favorable planting conditions, growth and agricultural technology.
The pulp is of ordinary density, fine-grained, filled with juice, cream color. It tastes sour and sweet at the same time.Differs in a high content of vitamins and useful microelements, especially for fruits cultivated in Siberia.
Creation of this variety of apples
The Pavlusha apple tree was obtained by selection specialists at the N.N. MA Lisavenko in 1961 with the help of free pollination of such varieties of apples as "Borovinka" with already obtained varieties with a high level of resistance to cold and frost, one of which is the apple variety "Autumn Joy of Altai".
Regions of the uncultivated variety
The Pavlusha apple tree was found in the Altai Territory, the Far East and the Urals. Young planting materials have passed state tests at experimental stations in the cities of Barnaul, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk.
Despite the high level of resistance to cold and frost, this apple variety has a slight degree of freezing at minus temperatures of forty-two degrees Celsius. The cultivation of this variety of apple trees on the skeletal formations of the Siberian fruit tree showed excellent results, namely, the freezing of the apple tree was almost not observed.
Harvest amount
Ripening of apples takes place evenly, begins in the first week of the last summer month and lasts about thirty days. Produces crops every year, in normal quantities. Fruit enlargement can be obtained by the correct use of care procedures. From approximately each apple tree, you can get twelve to fifteen kilograms of fruits, and the largest amount reached forty-one kilograms.

Planting materials of this variety are recommended to be planted in the spring season, while the soil heats up and the snow melts. Planting material planted in the autumn season can be harmed by cold and frost.
Fruit trees grow on rich loamy soil.
The method of planting the Pavlusha apple tree in the realities of cold climatic conditions differs from the usual in that the root system of the planting material does not deepen, but straightens above the hill made in advance, pouring fertile soil up. A drainage layer is made in the ground. Having selected the necessary place on the territory, having made a landing hole sixty centimeters deep, a hundred centimeters in diameter. Fill the planting hole with a healthy mixture of wood waste, pour out the remaining part of the soil, about a thirty centimeter layer of the prepared soil mixture and top dressing.
Clay soil must be thoroughly dug up using river sand and the required dressing. It is necessary to add two containers of humus and sixty grams of potassium sulfate and superphosphate. Acidic soils are not suitable for fruit trees; it is necessary to extinguish with nitrate.
Immediately before planting the cutting, a peg made of wood is installed in the center, about a hundred centimeters high. It is necessary to direct the planting material with a grafted branch to the south, otherwise the time for bearing fruit will be postponed for several years. The main thing is not to fill up the root collar during the entire existence of the apple tree, otherwise the tree will die. Make an earthen roller near the apple tree to retain moisture and moisten well. Cover the soil with a layer of mulch to avoid the appearance of a dry crust that will keep air out of the root system.
Pruning
The optimal time for this procedure is the spring season.
At a young age, pruning is carried out to stimulate good growth rates of the apple tree and increase the size of apples. For a fruit tree of this variety with a sparse crown, pruning with the simplest steps, removing shoots that compete with the main branches and growing in the center of the crown.
It is important not to leave stumps in the sprout removal area.In the first procedure for pruning a young apple tree until the age of three, the largest branches are reduced in size by forty centimeters, and then by fifteen to twenty centimeters. The section of the cuts must be treated with garden varnish, however, it is recommended to use grafting wax or special mastic, which quickly heals wounds and does not crack. Apple trees aged in the spring season are timely sanitary pruning of dry branches.
Moisturizing and fertilizing
The close location of groundwater feeds the apple tree with liquid throughout the summer season; during droughts, up to forty-one liters of liquid is used to moisten each fruit tree.
An exclusive feature of Siberian apple trees humidification is the method of crown irrigation from the top, reminiscent of rain.
During moistening, fertilizers are used, a hole is made near the trunk part with a space of one hundred centimeters and the liquid is poured out without contacting the apple tree itself. To improve the quality of fruits and apple, fertilizing is used, for example, humus, peat or superphosphate. For a good growth of a young apple tree, nitrogen is needed.
Preparing for the winter season
In the autumn season, when the apple tree moves into the winter season, the condition of the soil requires digging and covering with humus, a layer of peat up to twenty centimeters to avoid freezing of the bark.
Various diseases and parasites
Regardless of the procedures carried out by summer residents for the cultivation and agricultural technology of their summer cottage, apple trees can sometimes be exposed to various diseases and attacks of parasites. This means that it is necessary to use special drugs as preventive procedures that prevent the formation of parasites.
The information below will help you sprinkle the Pavlusha apple tree in time
Spring season:
Before opening the kidneys, spray at a temperature of no more than five degrees Celsius. Preventive action against fungal diseases, as well as the destruction of parasites remaining immediately after the winter season with the help of copper sulfate and nitrafen. During flowering, combating parasites and prophylactic procedures to get rid of diseases using Bordeaux liquid, ferrous sulfate, copper sulfate and much more. Various parasites can be destroyed with chlorophos solution, urea or ectobacterin suspension.
At the end of the flowering process, spray the apple tree against the appearance of parasites and some diseases with Bordeaux liquid, urea, copper or iron sulfate.
Two to three weeks after the completion of the flowering process, spray the combined preparations against parasites and diseases with chlorophos and karbofos, a suspension of DDT powder and urea.
In the summer season:
If necessary, fight against fungal diseases with the help of special products containing copper, add more laundry soap.
In the autumn season:
After harvesting and before the foliage of the Pavlusha apple tree falls off, carry out prophylaxis against diseases and parasites, which are preparing for the winter season with the help of karbofos solution.
The goal of all summer residents is to create a beautiful plot in which, in the presence of fruit trees, there will be a large number of tasty and aromatic fruits.
Having planted and grown Pavlusha apple trees, it is possible to purchase apples with amazing taste and a large amount of vitamins and microelements for the whole family, the fruits are beautiful both raw and after heat treatments.
