The Lesken apple tree is a winter variety, it was created at the Caucasus Research University. The university is dedicated to mountain and foothill selection. Thanks to the hybridization of the Renet variety and Pippin it turned out a new variety of Lesquin apple trees.
Several scientists are considered the authors of experiments and experiments at once. The variety was created for normal and cold climates.

The Lesquin apple tree is of medium size, reaching 3-4 meters in height. The crown of the tree is shaped like a pyramid. With age, the shape changes and becomes more rounded, spreading and rare in density. The branches are located at a great distance from each other. The trunks of the trees are thick, gray-brown in color. Branches are thin and long, branching off from the trunk at a certain angle.
The shoot of the Lesken apple tree is thick, of medium length, brown-gray in color, straight, without bends. The foliage of the tree is large, ovoid. Each sheet has two surfaces, one of which is glossy, shiny and even, it is dark in color, and the other is matte, fluffy with slight irregularities. The leaf plate is wide, slightly compressed and covered with wrinkles. Serration is observed along the edges, the edges of the leaf are raised. The petioles on which the leaf is thick and strong, the fruits last until the end of the season.
During the flowering period, an average number of pink flowers appears on the Lesken apple trees.
Apple Lesquin: description of fruits
Lesken apples are large enough, the average weight is 170 grams. They are round in shape, with slightly elongated sides. The skin of the fruit is smooth, even, without tubercles. When fully ripe, the apples are green with a slight orange-red tint. The stalks are short, of medium thickness, they firmly attach to the fruit and begin to weaken only at the end of the season. The pulp of the fruit is juicy, creamy, tender, dense, sweet-sour taste with a slight aroma. Apples contain 11% sugar, 3% vitamin C and 2% pectin.
When to harvest the fruit?
The full ripening of Lesquin apples will come in October. Once harvested, they can be stored for about 4-5 months without losing their appearance and taste. The tree will bring its first harvest 2 years after planting.
The amount of harvest is average, but regular and stabilizes already in the second year after the first harvest.
