Apple-tree Ice
Content:
Apple-tree Ice is a late winter variety, it has alternative names, it can be called Maginets or Buz-Alm. The variety was named that way because of its qualities and properties. The fruits of the Ice apple variety are dense, hard, large in mass, green in color, sometimes there is a slight blush. Apples look like they are made of ice.
Apple-tree Ice: description of the variety and characteristics
The first fruiting of the Ice apple tree can be expected 3 years after planting. The tree has a high yield. An adult tree 11-13 years old bears about 140-160 kilograms of fruit. Due to such a large harvest, the trees do not have enough strength to grow, which is why they are so compact, of small height, although for many gardeners this is a plus, since the tree takes up a minimum of space on the site.
The soil.
When choosing a place, you must opt for an area with good lighting. The variety is not whimsical to the soil, as well as to climatic conditions. Only if the tree is planted in rocky soil will it be necessary to feed this soil.
Note: Apple variety Ice perfectly tolerates drought, therefore, even with prolonged lack of moisture, the tree does not wither, does not weaken. The only thing is that the yield is getting smaller, reaching 60 kilograms.
Harvesting.
You can pick apples at the end of October. Once harvested, the fruits can be stored until early March. At full maturity, the mass of apples is uneven, there are small and large fruits. The average weight is 150 grams.
