The Kulikovskoe apple tree is a winter variety, bred at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute for Breeding Fruit Crops by sowing in 1961 grains from free pollination of the King variety, which was grafted into the crown of the Antonovka Krasnobochka variety. For the first time the variety bore fruit in 1968, since 1975 the seedling has become an elite one. The authors of this apple variety are: E. N. Sedov, N. G. Krasova, M. V. Mikheeva. In 1984, the Kulikovskoe apple variety was sent for state testing, and since 1998 it has been listed in the State Register of Breeding Achievements, and has also been approved for cultivation.

The Kulikovskoe apple tree is a medium-sized tree. The crown is rounded, its branches are slightly drooping. The bark covering the trunk and skeletal branches is flaky and dark gray. Fruits are formed mainly on ringlets and fruit twigs.
