Apple tree Jonathan
Content:
The Jonathan apple tree was bred by crossing the Esopus Spitzenberg apple tree with another unknown hybrid. Their best qualities have come together to create the Jonathan apple tree, and most of the flaws have been eliminated thanks to genetics.
This crossing took place back in 1862 in the city of New York.
Other experts, however, suggest that a completely different apple tree became the progenitor of this species, the name of which is Aesop Spitzenberg.
The Jonathan apple variety began to get extremely widespread relatively recently - around the middle of the twentieth century.
And even then, this distribution became not too large-scale: for the most part, the species was used by American farmers, and it did not go outside the continent.
Nevertheless, when the Jonathan apple variety nevertheless reached other countries, many gardeners, both professionals and beginners, noted its exceptional qualities and certainly wanted to have such a plant in their collection.
Such a rapid spread was even noted by the administration of the Soviet Union, because even then the plant was noted in the state species register.
Now that you have learned a little about the hysteria of this wonderful species, you should talk about its distinctive features as a plant.

- Description of the tree
Apple trees Jonathan are not overly gigantic in size. In fact, if grown in our area, they are relatively medium-sized.
But as for the branches - they are very different in length from each other in the Jonathan apple variety - especially skeletal, which is usually not characteristic of medium-sized apple trees. It should also be noted that they most often do not depart from the trunk at an acute angle.
Due to such unusual properties of the skeletal branches of the tree, the entire crown has a rather unusual and unusual shape. It is difficult to describe it as any kind of geometric figure, however, over time, when the branches more or less align, it becomes relatively like a ball.
The bark of the Jonathan apple tree has a slightly brownish tint. You can also notice small blotches of white and green on it. By the way, it will definitely not work to call it smooth, since even young plants form small folds on the bark.
Speaking about the fruiting of a tree, it should be noted that an apple on itself can grow almost any shoot: both old and annual, and therefore all of them are necessary and important.
Like branches, by the way, shoots most often grow uneven and uneven. However, this in no way makes the tree worse, since they are still very strong and powerful, which allows them to easily support the weight of apples.
By the way, the Jonathan apple tree variety has another distinctive feature, thanks to which I determined that this particular variety is missing in my father's collection: the leaves of the Jonathan apple tree always have a thin silvery bloom, which not all trees have.
As for the other characteristics of the leaves of this tree, they are still quite standard: the leaves are quite small, have a matte surface, an oval shape, and also pointed at both ends.
- Description of fruits
The Jonathan apple tree starts blooming in May. At the same time, the Jonathan apple tree is considered medium late, which means that its fruits ripen a little later than medium varieties, but also earlier than late ones.
The apple trees themselves are incredibly beautiful, tasty and juicy, for which this variety, of course, is loved by gardeners almost all over the world.
In appearance, they have an almost perfect spherical shape, which makes it just pleasant to look at a tree with fruits. However, the form, of course, has small flattening at the bottom and top, but they are not critical.
The color of the apple trees itself is incredibly rich red, and you can also see small contrasting green stripes on its surface, which make the appearance of the plant even more interesting and unusual.
Well, of course, you are interested to know what taste the fruits of the Jonathan apple tree have. Those who have tried this type of apple say that they are simply wonderful: they have a creamy sweet taste, but they are not overly cloying either.
A little sourness brings balance to the palate, which makes Jonathan's apples truly exquisite. Someone even notes that subtle wine notes can be caught in them.

Now that we have discussed the appearance, and also touched on the history of the Jonathan apple tree, it's time to figure out what are the distinctive pros and cons it has. To do this, we have compiled a small list for you:
Apple tree Jonathan has its merits:
- Apples have a simply excellent taste palette, making the fruits very easy to sell, and, of course, to eat on their own.
- The long shelf life of these fruits also cannot be left aside, as this point is incredibly important for those who are going to grow the variety in large quantities for sale.
- Well, let's not forget that this apple is considered very fast-growing, and therefore it reaches the age of active fruiting incredibly quickly relative to other members of the family.
- Also, by the way, this apple is much better than most others for processing and cooking wonderful dishes. Especially the Jonathan apple pies and cakes are great.
- Also, some people prepare wine from apples of this type, but I cannot say anything about this, since, to be honest, I have not tried the finished product.
However, as was said, this plant also has disadvantages, which, of course, simply cannot be ignored. However, if they were not there, the view would have turned out to be just perfect, and such, of course, do not exist.
Therefore, you also need to know well about the shortcomings of the Jonathan apple tree, since otherwise they will be able to take you by surprise and play a bad joke with you.
- Many note that, despite the fact that the tree is medium-sized and does not claim to be a giant, its fruits are incomparably small in comparison with the apple tree itself.
- Also, the disadvantage of the plant is that it can with great difficulty endure winter frosts, and therefore, if you want to grow it in naked edges, then you will have to find out if it can take root at all on your site, and if so, how much protection will have to provide him for this.
- Also, if we talk about what the plant does not resist poorly, then one cannot fail to mention powdery mildew - an incredibly unpleasant fungal disease that gives gardeners an immense amount of trouble. However, with proper prevention, it is quite easy to avoid it.
- And finally, it should be noted that, despite the fact that the species is very well stored, it is, at the same time, incredibly picky about the storage conditions, and therefore you will have to work hard to be able to store the fruits as much as possible.
- Climatic growing conditions
Of course, like any other plant, the Jonathan apple tree needs to maintain certain climatic conditions in which it will feel good and will be able to bring stable and bountiful harvests.
First of all, of course, you will have to monitor how severe the winters are in your region, since the frosty the blizzards, the more difficult it will be for the plant to recover after them and, accordingly, bring a good harvest.
Therefore, as statistics show, this tree shows the best results among all gardeners in our country in the regions located in the south.
- Numerical characteristics of the tree
In fact, the size of the Jonathan apple variety varies greatly, as the height of the tree and the width of its crown can vary significantly from variety to variety, and also from seedling to seedling.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that, despite the fact that all varieties included in this species are medium-sized, they also have very impressive dimensions, which are achieved precisely due to the wide crown relative to the trunk.
In addition, from the side it can be noted that it is not too thickened, and therefore all massive skeletal branches can be seen through it, which makes the tree even more majestic.
However, if at a young age these branches mostly grow upward, then as the tree ages, they droop a little, thereby significantly changing the shape of the crown of the plant. However, this only benefits gardeners, as the bending of the branches to the ground makes it much easier to pick apples.
- Yield
As already mentioned, the Jonathan apple trees quickly enter the fruiting age. Speaking of average values, this happens most often five to six years after planting a seedling.
They say that the record among the trees of this species is the reliably documented harvest, which amounted to as much as four hundred kilograms.
However, there are also people who claim that they manage to collect half a ton from one tree, which, unfortunately, has not been reliably confirmed.
Important! As mentioned earlier in the article, the disadvantage of the Jonathan apple tree is that, with a relatively large size, it has disproportionately small fruits, and therefore, even if you find that your apples turn out to be some kind of small ones, then you should not worry about this worth it: it's okay.

- Tasting assessment
In fact, a huge number of tasters constantly give completely different ratings to various varieties of this type, which, however, is not surprising, because they are all completely different from each other and have absolutely different taste qualities.
However, if we put all these estimates together and find the arithmetic mean, we get about four and a half points out of five, which is actually a remarkable result.
Perhaps the estimate would have been even higher if apples did not contain a fairly large amount of sugars: when grown in southern regions, their amount can easily reach about eleven percent.
- Winter hardiness
As we said, listing the disadvantages of this species, it is she who is its most unpleasant weakness, since in most regions of our country you simply cannot grow the Jonathan apple tree, while getting normal yields.
More precisely, you, of course, can, but for this you will need to take very much care of protection for the tree.
By the way, in some sources you can read absolutely opposite information, since many people find it beneficial for you to think that the Jonathan apple tree is perfect, and therefore to all statements that some super-apple variety Jonathan could withstand a frost of thirty degrees below zero should be treated with great skepticism.
As for the more specific numbers that you probably would like to hear, it is quite difficult to quote them, as you understand, which is once again caused by a huge variety of varieties.
Nevertheless, if we again calculate the arithmetic mean, then most varieties of the Jonathan apple tree are able to survive the cold fifteen degrees below zero without any damage. If temperatures continue to drop, the plant will start to have problems.
However, this does not mean that in places where winters are harsher and colder, Jonathan's apple tree will not grow there. This only means that you will need a lot of agrofibre and mulch with which you can protect the root system - the main organ of the tree - from death.
However, even with such good protection, growing the Jonathan apple tree under these conditions will result in much poorer yields, as well as much later ripening.
- Disease resistance
It was previously mentioned that the Jonathan apple tree has an extremely weak resistance to a disease such as powdery mildew, and this is indeed the case. For the most part, it is because of her that uninformed gardeners lose their trees. However, if you handle the tree well in preventive measures, then even powdery mildew will not overtake you.
As for another ailment that is incredibly dangerous for fruit plants - scab - the apple tree Jonathan copes with it surprisingly well. However, this does not mean that you do not need to actively protect yourself from it with preventive spraying.
Sometimes damage to the plant by bacterial cancer is also observed, but this disease is so rare that it is practically not worth talking about it. By the way, it occurs most often either from poor care or from physical damage to the plant, and therefore it will definitely not threaten you after reading this article.
Apple tree Jonathan: reviews of gardeners

If you do not have a desire to read real reviews from real people presented below, then all of them can be summarized in one sentence: the fruits are wonderful, the tree is problematic. However, if such a description does not provide you enough information, we invite you to read the following reviews:
Rostislav
“I bought the apple tree Jonathan on the recommendation of my acquaintances, who planted it themselves because at that time Jonathan was incredibly popular. In general, to say that we were disappointed is definitely impossible.
Apples by the tree are really worth growing. However, I cannot help but note that there is too much trouble with the tree.
We got our first harvest five years later, and despite the fact that it was rather meager, the first year, after all, the apples turned out to be simply amazing. Let's just say, if I had to make a list of the best apple trees to taste, then this list would definitely include Jonathan, and he certainly would not be in last place.
Nevertheless, one must also understand how much effort this harvest was obtained, since you will have to tinker with the tree a lot.
Firstly, it is rather cold here, and therefore every year we had to carry out quite serious work on the wood insulation.
Also, a lot of energy was spent on constant formative pruning, since the crown was very naughty and the branches were constantly growing incomprehensibly, as well as it is not clear where.
Nevertheless, now that we have managed to form a wonderful Jonathan apple tree, we get a wonderful harvest and do not regret it in the least. The only question is how hard we did it. "

“The Jonathan apple tree was acquired by me back when there was a massive psychosis on it. Everyone wanted to grow Jonathan in their garden. Everyone seemed to be obsessed with this view, but I still have to point out that there were reasons for that. Well, of course, I was also very happy when I finally got the fruits. They were juicy, delicious - just lovely. The only trouble was that there were monstrously few of them. Of course, I decided that in the first year everything was as it should be, but the next year the situation did not change at all.
Then I decided to read more about the plant, and it turned out that the seller very much deceived me, saying that the tree copes well with extreme cold. Everything turned out so that I practically did not care about protection for the winter, and as a result, in the spring my tree took a very long time to recover and, therefore, could not mature normally.
Now, taking all this into account, I still get good yields, but far from ideal. My apple tree, Jonathan, was clearly badly damaged by the cold as a child and still cannot recover from it. And this, of course, is insulting, but otherwise I have no reproaches to the tree. "

“I think no one will argue that these apples taste just great, and this is exactly what this species is so adored for. Nevertheless, many turn a blind eye to its shortcomings, which in no case should be done.
The Jonathan apple tree is a species mostly intended for professional gardeners who will not bring any problems to growing it.
For beginners who just heard about its popularity and wanted to buy it right away, I would not recommend it, because they simply do not have enough experience to maintain a tree in good condition.
First of all, of course, the fight against diseases will cause a lot of trouble, since the tree is extremely vulnerable to them. It will be very important to carry out well-calibrated spraying with fungicides and other preparations.
You will also have to sweat a lot to provide good protection from the cold. And, of course, trimming is also a lot of trouble, especially if you do not know exactly how to carry it out correctly.
But I still can't help but notice that if you are good at doing all of the above, then it is the Jonathan apple tree that I could recommend to you as a wonderful apple tree with wonderful fruits. The main thing is to be prepared for a lot of work. "
Apple tree Jonathan: planting varieties
Apple tree Jonathan: photo of the variety
Now that you know absolutely everything you need to know in order to successfully grow this plant, as well as in order to make a choice whether you need it at all, we suggest that you read the detailed instructions in which we will describe how precisely to cope with this sometimes fastidious plant, and we will begin, of course, with planting.
- Landing dates
In fact, very often experts argue about when it would be better to plant this or that variety, whether it will take root at one time or another of the year.
However, as for the Jonathan apple tree, almost all gardeners agree on it: it should be planted exclusively in the spring, and there simply cannot be any discrepancies with these terms.
Otherwise, the plant simply will not have time to properly prepare for the harsh winter cold and, most likely, will die during them.
Nevertheless, there are those gardeners who still prefer autumn planting, however their group is extremely small, and, despite the fact that I belong to this group, I would strongly advise novice gardeners to carry out autumn planting, as it is always associated with great risk, which, unfortunately, is not always possible to cope with.
The main thing when planting in autumn is to observe the following indisputable rule: to monitor good insulation, since only in this case the apple tree will be able to normally adapt to winter conditions.
If you follow it well, you will undoubtedly get some advantage: an apple grown in a cold environment will be more resistant to cold, and it will, of course, survive the winter with less losses.
Nevertheless, if the insulation is not enough or, on the contrary, too much, you may simply destroy the plant, and therefore, it is necessary to carry out the autumn planting, as already mentioned, not only wisely, but also with experience.
- Pick-up location
Everything is much simpler here than with the choice of a place, since absolutely no controversial questions about the choice of a place arise, and indeed cannot arise. First of all, of course, you will have to make sure that the place is sunny, since without enough sunlight, the plant will definitely not be able to grow normally.
It is also important to ensure that there are no drafts and no cold winds in the place where you plant the tree, since the Jonathan apple tree is very susceptible to them, and therefore can be seriously damaged by them.
It is strictly forbidden to choose places with high humidity, such as, for example, places of occurrence of groundwater. The fact is that moisture is an ideal condition for the growth, life and reproduction of fungi, which, if unsuccessfully planted, will constantly terrorize your apple tree.
If you do plant an apple tree in such a place, then you will have to carry out much more preventive spraying than usual, which will protect the plant from adversity.
However, some may even think that this is simply dangerous for the plant, because more chemistry can easily harm it.
This, of course, is true, but I have a counter argument: powdery mildew, if it appears, will harm the plant of the code more than constant spraying with fungicides, and therefore, in fact, there is no need to choose.
- Landing technology
First of all, of course, you will have to purchase a seedling. Here, by the way, one more advantage of the autumn planting is observed, since by the spring most of the seedlings are bought up, and those that remain are sold at huge prices.
By the way, you should choose only the store that you completely trust, since an unverified source may well have only impudent fakes under the Jonathan apple tree.
Before planting, it is necessary to carry out some manipulations with the seedling, which primarily include refreshing the roots. This is done by placing them in a reservoir of water, where they can get really wet and gain strength.
After that, you need to prepare a planting hole in which you will place the seedling.
To do this, you need to carry out some preliminary preparations, which include the following:
It is necessary to carefully examine the soil and collect information about its condition. The most important thing for this plant is to make it suitable in composition - so that it is pleasant and comfortable to be in the soil you have prepared.
One of the most important characteristics of such correct soil is fertility. However, if necessary, you can add both sand and clay (at your discretion)
Also, to make it easier for the plant to take root in a new place and in completely unfamiliar conditions, you should take care of good fertilizers that will need to be applied to the soil.
After all this is done, it will be necessary to stick a small peg into the hole (even before planting the seedling), and also form a small hill next to it.
You will plant an apple tree on this hill. In this case, the roots will need to be straightened in such a way that they all look in different directions.
After you sprinkle the seedling with earth, it will be necessary to trample it down (to exclude the occurrence of air bubbles), as well as water it well to give the seedling a good impetus to growth at the very beginning of its life.
Important! When planting, in no case should we forget that the root collar of the tree as a result should be ten to seven centimeters above the soil level.
If you are going to grow not one, but several or even more apple trees at once, then you will have to take care to keep a large distance between them, since otherwise their root systems may collide in the struggle for nutrients, and the crowns will get confused and interfere with each other.
Therefore, in order to avoid such an unpleasant effect, it is necessary to observe the distance between the seedlings, equal to at least four meters. Moreover, the larger the seedling, the more it should be distant from others.
Apple tree Jonathan: variety care
Apple tree Jonathan: photo of the variety
You understand perfectly well that, despite the fact that planting is indeed one of the most important procedures in the life of any plant, it still needs to be closely followed after it, and also well looked after.
This is exactly what the complex of such procedures as watering, fertilizing, preventive spraying or, for example, mulching, is aimed at, the purpose of which is precisely to protect the plant from all kinds of accidents that may occur as it grows, as well as to provide it with nutrients.
I especially want to draw your attention to mulching, since this particular procedure can incredibly greatly simplify your life. Not only does it prevent moisture from the soil from leaving it, it also protects the plant from all kinds of weeds that constantly strive to prevent you from growing a wonderful apple tree.
It is advisable to change the mulch after absolutely every watering, however, it may well lie longer - it all depends on the quality of the mulching material.
- Pruning
However, we decided to highlight a whole separate point for this procedure, since it is as important as it is difficult, and therefore you just have to know exactly how to prune in order to only make the tree better.
First of all, it should be noted that many gardeners recommend pruning already in the first year of the seedling's life - right when you purchase it. However, I think a little differently, since first you need to observe which branches can grow well without your participation, and which need special care. And if you do the cropping right away, you won't know for sure.
Therefore, I strongly recommend that you carry out the first pruning exclusively in the second year, and also divide it into several stages:
Formative pruning, which is incredibly important at the beginning of the growth of the seedling, but will no longer be needed later.
For sanitary pruning, which must be carried out at the beginning of each growing season in order to get rid of old, diseased and damaged branches.
For rejuvenating, which is relevant exclusively for adult apple trees and only serve to obtain more abundant harvests.
The most difficult of them all, as for me, is precisely the formative one, since it is associated with a very serious choice: what kind of shape should the crown of your apple tree be.
There are a huge number of them, and each has its own adherents. However, you will have to weigh the pros and cons, and choose exactly the shape of the crown that is right for you.
As for all other scraps, they do not represent anything particularly difficult: the main thing is to identify in time exactly which branches need to be removed and, directly remove them.
Important! You must definitely understand that pruning is a procedure that includes direct intentional harm to the plant, and therefore it must be carried out with extreme caution, as well as only with good tools.
- Pruning time
In fact, it will not be difficult to determine exactly when pruning should be carried out, since for the most part the timing of this procedure coincides with other important dates in the life of the plant.
Sanitary pruning, as already mentioned, is carried out exclusively in the spring - when the tree has come out of hibernation. At the same time, you will have to wait until all return frosts have passed, since otherwise the tree will not be able to grow normally.
In the summer, formative pruning is carried out, which includes the formation of the correct crown shape.
- Apple Pollinators Jonathan
In fact, when it comes to the fact that the Jonathan apple tree is a self-fertile variety, I write it all down to the minus plant, because with him you will also have to plant another variety that you may not be so interested in.
However, when describing the disadvantages of the Jonathan apple tree, I did not mention the need for the presence of a pollinator. Why then.
The fact is that this tree is partially self-pollinated. Nevertheless, if you are satisfied with exceptionally record harvests, then you still have to resort to the "services" of pollinating varieties.
Gardeners who have worked with the Jonathan apple tree argue that the following apple trees are best suited as pollinators:
- Golden Delicious
- Idared
- Mac
- Welsey
- Melba
Thanks to these particular varieties, you will be able to significantly increase the number of apples. If we talk about more specific numbers, then it can be noted that without the presence of pollinators, Jonathan's fruits are tied exclusively on a third of all flowers, but with pollinators, the percentages jump to eighty and even practically to ninety.
Apple tree Jonathan: features of the variety
- Features of ripening and fruiting
In fact, during all this time, I did not say anything about growing this species on a dwarf rootstock, and this practice is also quite widespread and used.
In this case, fruiting can begin not only in the fourth, but also in the third year of the plant's life, which is a rather amazing result.
Nevertheless, there are also sources claiming that they achieved the beginning of fruiting after two years of the seedling's life. However, unfortunately, there is no confirmation of this fact.
- Ripening terms
If we are talking about standard weather conditions, as well as good conditions for keeping the plant, then you can get the fruits by the end of September or, possibly, by the beginning of October.
However, to get a more accurate timeline, you will need to take into account quite a number of incredibly subtle factors, such as the growing region, the weather conditions in each particular year, as well as your own efforts that you put into the plant.
- Fruit storage
As mentioned, you can keep Jonathan's apples for an incredibly long time. Nevertheless, as you understand, this requires specific conditions, which are far from always possible to create for such a large number of fruits.
It would seem that the conditions are actually quite simple: you just need to withstand the storage temperature in the region of two and a half degrees Celsius, and even in March you can please your family with delicious fruits.
Nevertheless, these conditions must be followed perfectly flawlessly, since otherwise the fruits will very quickly begin to rot and deteriorate, which certainly will not be liked by anyone.
You also need to comply with one more additional condition: correct styling. Without it, being under great pressure from each other, apples may well be crumpled for such a long time.
Varieties
Of course, since the Jonathan apple tree is incredibly popular, during this time professional breeders have bred a huge number of its varieties, which are simply amazing in quality.
Now we will introduce you to some of them.
- Jonathan Gold
This apple variety Jonathan was bred by professionals back in 1943. The creators were American breeders, whose goal was to create an apple tree with a much higher quality tree than that of the original Jonathan.
The second variety for creating this plant, in addition to the usual Jonathan, was the Golden Delicious apple tree, which, by the way, is an excellent pollinator for the original plant.
The tree turns out to be very vigorous, which to some extent reduces the plant's weakness to cold and disease.
His crown changes its shape over time: in the early years it is an uneven oval, but the older the tree becomes, the more spherical the crown becomes.
However, unfortunately, it was not possible to completely get rid of the problems with frost and diseases, and therefore the variety is still afraid of them.
The plant begins to bear fruit already in the third year after planting the seedling.
On average, about fifty kilograms of delicious fruits are harvested from a twelve-year-old tree.
By the way, speaking of taste: the tasting score of this variety is exactly four and a half points.
The color of the fruit is also slightly different, which, in contrast to the rich red in the original Jonathan, has become much more yellowish.
Fruits begin to ripen around the end of September or by the beginning of October, like the original.
Nevertheless, it is too early to eat them by this time: they must necessarily ripen, being in storage.
Somewhere in December-January, the fruits already fully acquire their trademark taste and aroma. Well, if you store the fruits in conditions close to ideal, then even in April they will be able to retain their excellent taste and aroma.
- Jonathan Red
This cultivar is a bud mutation of the original plant. Unfortunately, there is simply no specific information about who is its discoverer and what kind of varieties formed its basis. However, this does not prevent the variety from being extremely popular and used.
Crohn has an average degree of neglect, as well as medium size. Its shape is rounded almost throughout the entire life period of the plant.
Despite the fact that this variety has advanced significantly in its ability to withstand frost (especially compared to the original plant), it is still not ideal for him. The same goes for the ability to resist disease.
To ripen the variety in the same way as its original, and according to the storage conditions, as, by the way, and in terms of time, it also coincides with the ordinary Jonathan.
The similarities between the clone and the original do not end there, since the apples of the hybrid variety have exactly the same rich red hue. However, perhaps you can even say that in the hybrid it is a little richer.
The care of the plant, however, in view of the fact that it has much more advanced physiological characteristics, is also different. It is somewhat more complicated than caring for Jonathan Ordinary.
As for the taste of the fruits, they are invariably at their best. It can only be noted that there is a little less sweetness in them.
However, I would still like to warn you that at the moment this variety, although it remains one of the best, is still slowing down in front of other favorites. However, it will suit you if you live in areas with colder winters.
- Other clones
In fact, it is simply pointless to list absolutely all clones and hybrid varieties that descended from the Jonathan apple tree, there are more than forty of them and they are all damn similar to each other. Well, some even say that there are about fifty of them.
Among them there are both domestic and foreign ones, however, all of them are mostly sharpened for growing in one specific area, and only there show their best characteristics, and therefore, when choosing, we advise you to pay attention to exactly the two that are mentioned above.
Well, or you can look for a variety that would be ideal for your particular region.
View position in the "leaderboard"
It should be noted that, although this variety has experienced the greatest rise in its popularity for a long time, it should be noted that it still remains incredibly popular and used, and therefore, having planted it on your site, you will definitely not regret it.
However, some even believe that the Jonathan apple tree deserves a much higher position in this very leaderboard, but its shortcomings still do not allow it to be higher than the varieties that do not have them.
Conclusion and tips
Well, as you might have noticed, the Jonathan apple tree is indeed a wonderful apple tree, however it is also a plant that needs eye and eye. Just planting it and waiting for the harvest is not enough. It is imperative to watch him, take care of him and, of course, love.
You should also understand that this plant, of course, may not grow everywhere. Nevertheless, even if your place of residence suits him, then you must very carefully weigh the pros and cons, and only then plunge headlong into the work of growing the Jonathan apple variety.
We hope the information provided in this article will help you with this, and you will not have any surprises that you could not cope with. All that remains is to wish you good luck.
