The Avangard apple tree is an autumn one, obtained at the Far Eastern Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture, thanks to the work of a selection specialist A.V. Bolonyaev, who crossed apple varieties in 1941, namely the apple variety "Efremovskoe No. 6" and "Antonovka", "Belfleur -Chinese ". The Avangard apple variety is intended for cultivation in the Far Eastern region, grown in group specimens in the household plots of Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krai, as well as in the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Amur Region and the Sakhalin Region.

The Vanguard apple tree usually grows of ordinary size, branching is assessed as moderate. The crown is in the form of a regular elongated circle in youth and rather spreading in the process of a plentiful harvest, skeletal branches of a brownish color, have a kind of inclination at an acute angle. The lower branches grow at an angle of ninety degrees.

Vanguard apple branches are yellow and brown in color, slightly crooked, of ordinary size, in cross-section of a round shape, internodes of ordinary size, pubescence is assessed as medium. Lentils are small in size, voluminous, located freely. The buds are pressed against the branches, the color is dark brown, scales with a shape that resembles an egg. The leaf plates grow in different directions, of an ordinary size, the shape of a regular elongated oval, the base of a regular round shape. At the edges, the leaf plate is crenate or double-serrate-crenate, the color is greenish.

The harvest of the Vanguard apple tree is small, most often the weight of one fruit reaches thirty-six grams, and sometimes specimens weighing forty-five grams are found, non-volumetric or non-volumetric in the form of a regular circle, slightly beveled. The main color is light yellowish, the integumentary color is reddish tint, almost completely covers the fruit. The fruit stem is rather thin, elongated, located in an ordinary-sized funnel. The calyx is completely closed, rather small, it is simply removed from the fetus or disappears in small fruits. The depression under the calyx is shallow, in the form of a funnel, the color resembles rust. The presentation is very good.

The fruit pulp of the Avangard apple variety is snow-white, with small grains, filled with juice, tastes sour and sweet at the same time, and tastes good. In terms of taste, the fruits belong to table varieties, suitable for consumption raw, and also processed, for example, as jam, preserves, juice.

acids - eight tenths of a percent.
tannins - four tenths of a percent.
pectin substances - five tenths of a percent.

The Avangard apple tree ripens in the first weeks of the first autumn month, is suitable for consumption after one to two weeks, and is kept raw until the end of the autumn season. Fruits are fastened well.

Begins to produce crops when they reach three to four years of age. Bring large amounts of crops regularly.Upon reaching the age of four, to bring three kilograms of five hundred grams of the crop, upon reaching the age of five, it brings up to eleven kilograms, upon reaching the age of eleven, it brings up to thirty kilograms from each fruit tree. The duration of productivity is about seventeen years.
