Apple Tree Climber
Content:
Apple tree Climber was bred at the Scientific Research Institute in the Caucasus, dedicated to mountain and foothill gardening. Thanks to the hybridization of Raneta and Chernenko, a new variety appeared, which was later decided to be called the Alpinist. The author of the apple-tree variety Alpinist is Pavel Kostyk, who carried out all the crosses. This variety was bred specifically for cultivation in most regions with a normal and cold climate, therefore, after its appearance, it quickly spread to many regions with different temperature conditions.
Apple tree Climber: variety description and characteristics
The Climber apple tree reaches up to 6 meters in height and is considered a vigorous tree. After planting, for the first 2-3 years, the crown of the tree resembles the shape of a ball, and then expands slightly, turning into an oval. The branches of the tree are thick and strong, located at an average distance from each other. When the fruits begin to ripen on the tree, the branches become more spreading and the crown becomes even wider. The trunk and branches are brown with a slight burgundy tint. Branches of uneven length, there are both long and short branches.
The shoot of an apple tree of the Alpinist variety is thick, grayish, even, has no bends, and has long internodes on it. The foliage of the tree is dense, although the branches are at a distance, they can touch. The leaf itself is large, slightly elongated on one side and resembles the shape of a curved oval. On the edges of the leaves, you can see small denticles, as well as light, barely noticeable veins. The leaves have two surfaces, one of which is glossy and smooth, and the other is fluffy and matte, and also with small tubercles.

- Characteristics of apples.
The fruits of the Climber apple tree are very large, the average weight of one fruit is 180 grams, sometimes there are fruits of 200 and 220 grams, but this occurs only with a lot of heat and lighting. There are also subcutaneous points that are perfectly visible. The apples hang on short, thick stalks that hold the fruit firmly on the branch.
The flesh of apples is firm, green in color, and consists of a large amount of juice. The taste is dominated by sweetness. The tasters rate the appearance and taste of the fruit as 9.9 points out of 10 points. Referring to the chemical composition, you can see that apples contain 10% sugar, 12% vitamin C, 0.6% titratable acids.
