Planting garlic
It's actually very easy to grow garlic in your garden. To do this, you only need to know a few useful secrets.
Garlic is divided into 2 types:
Spring
Winter
They differ in that they are planted at different times of the year.
Time to plant the garlic.
If winter grade (winter), garlic should be planted in the middle of autumn. If summer (spring), then in the middle of spring. Consider that the garden bed for the spring must be prepared in the fall.
Landing place.
Garlic loves sunlight, so you need to plant it so that the sun's rays fall on it. The place for the garlic should be wide enough - 75 cm. We make a small space between the rows, about 20 cm. The distance between the cloves should be 10 cm.
Garlic in the garden: Preparing the soil and place.
For a winter species, in the fall, in two to three weeks, the soil must be carefully dug up. We do this so that the earth has time to settle before planting. For the spring species, the land must also be prepared in the fall. We dig up the earth, if there is a need to fertilize - we do it.
The soil must be loosened so that there is a lot of oxygen in it. Then we disinfect with a manganese solution and cover with a film until planting.
Garlic planting process.
The peculiarities of the spring type are that only dry land should be watered, and the planting depth should be three centimeters.
The peculiarities of the winter type are that the planting depth should be up to five centimeters. Also for the winter, the garden should be covered with leaves.
Remember that the planting material needs to be renewed every three years. Garlic should be mulched, watered and fertilized. Do not forget to observe the crop rotation!
Another little trick. The harvest will be bigger and better if the garlic is planted next to peppers or tomatoes.
Watering.
Most garlic needs watering in the spring. We water it once a week (15 liters per 1 square meter). On rainy days, watering the beds is not worth it. Use warm water best for irrigation.
Top dressing.
For the spring type, feeding is done in early spring. Better to do it with a mullein. In the middle of summer, pour the ash solution.
We spill the winter type with urea after the snow has slept.
If you don't know how to deal with pests, simply mix pepper with wood ash and tobacco. It should be done twice a month.
As you can see, garlic is very easy to grow even for novice gardeners. Indeed, it is this plant that does not need strong care.
