Planting seedlings in open ground - simple rules
Content:
In order for you to grow good seedlings, it is best to take a disposable container. Disposable jars are perfect for this. Planting seedlings will be much easier. If you decide to grow seedlings in a common container, then you need to be very careful when transplanting, try not to damage the young root system.
How not to damage the roots?
Planting seedlings in one large container has one indisputable minus - the roots of the system of young plants are reliably intertwined. This does not happen in separate containers. Seedlings from the general container must be taken out as carefully as possible, trying not to disturb the root system. If the roots of the seedlings are injured, this will entail a disruption in the growth and development of the young plant, because it will spend all its strength on restoring the roots.
This, of course, will entail the second problem - low yields. If your seedlings grow in a common container, then to extract it you need to use this technique - you need to moisten the soil so intensively that it turns into mud. After that, you should take a small spatula and start extracting young plants. If the horses are strongly intertwined, then they can be lowered into a container of water. After that, you can untangle the roots without damaging them.
After that, the plants are immediately planted in the soil. To do this, it is necessary to prepare pits in the ground in advance for planting seedlings. If you planted seedlings in cups, then they, along with the available soil, are immersed in a hole. If you used peat pots as cups, then you no longer need to get seedlings out of them. The plant is immersed with it in the soil. The glass dissolves, becoming an additional feeding of the young plant. Although these cups are more expensive than plastic cups, the benefits are undeniable.
Planting seedlings to a depth
Depth plays an important role when landing. Seedlings are not always positive about deep planting. But, plants such as tomatoes, on the contrary, love when they are planted deep in the ground. They form additional roots along the stem, which helps them get more vitamins and macronutrients. But bell peppers, for example, are by no means. They need to be planted at the depth at which they grew. Otherwise, they will grow, and perhaps even die altogether.
After the plants are planted, the soil must be thoroughly crushed so that there is no empty space between the ground and the root system of the plant.
Density of disembarkation
Another important part is to determine the number of plants on the site, namely, the density of their planting. If you plant few plants, then don't expect a good harvest. And if the plants are planted too tightly to each other, there is a danger of developing fungal infections. This is due to the fact that with a dense planting, there is almost no aeration of the roots. The soil is poorly blown by the wind. Also, a high planting density slows down the growth and development of the plant, also leading to a decrease in the number of fruits.
Let us dwell on the question, how many seedlings are normal for 1 m kV soil: white cabbage - around 5 pieces, tomatoes - 4 pieces maximum, eggplants - no more than 8 pieces nearby, zucchini - up to 3 pieces, but cucumbers - almost 10 things.
Planting seedlings on the ridge - when?
The time of planting seedlings in the soil is different for each plant. It is obtained based on the plant's resistance to frost, harvest time. At the end of April, the optimal time for planting all types of cabbage, at the beginning of May, lettuce is planted. At the end of May, eggplants, zucchini, cucumbers, and tomatoes are planted.Melons are planted in early June.
