Plants begin to sprout after 14 days, and can sit in the ground for up to 4 months. Basically, such small seeds are found in hogweed clematis. Medium - such seeds are no more than 1 cm. Basically, they are found in clematis purple, straight, burning, Siberian, Alpine and others. Such seeds sprout for a very long time, practically within a year. It is very difficult to grow such clematis due to the fact that the emergence of sprouts takes a very long time, so if you have a goal to grow exactly those varieties that have such seeds, then you need to be patient. But if it is not there, then the best solution would be to simply grow clematis from cuttings.

How to sow seeds correctly.

Clematis seeds generally sprout for a very long time, and not evenly at all. It is for this reason that the seeds must initially be properly prepared. Seed preparation is a long process. Stratification can take three months in time. So if you want to plant clematis in the spring, then you need to start preparing the seeds at the end of autumn. At the very beginning of spring, the prepared seeds already need to be planted in containers. The soil mixture must necessarily consist of peat, sand and earth in equal parts. The depth to which seeds should be sown depends on their size. Medium should be planted no deeper than 1 cm, and large no more than 2 cm. After the seeds are planted, the container with seeds should be kept in a cool place for several months, where the temperature will be no more than +5 degrees, but not lower than 0. This the term applies to large seeds, while medium seeds are enough to withstand 1 month. After the seeds are matured, they will need to be placed in a warm place and wait until they sprout. In this case, the earth must be constantly sprayed from a spray bottle, because the earth in no case should dry out, but it should not be kept very wet either, there is enough light moisture. If, for some reason, you cannot prepare, or rather withstand the seeds for such a long time, then in order for them to rise faster, it will sufficiently soak them in water for five days, but on condition that you change it every three hours. Once you have prepared the clematis seeds in this way, they can be sown into a container. And after sowing, the container should be warm.

How to dive correctly.

When the seedlings sprout and two real leaves of the plant appear, you need to dive. To do this, they need to be seated in separate cups or transplanted into one large box so that the distance between them is at least 15 cm.The soil for transplanting must be light so that oxygen can easily flow to the roots of the plants. It is necessary to transplant seedlings together with the land in which they grew. The plants must be removed from the container carefully so as not to damage the very fragile root system, which has just begun to develop. After you have transplanted the sprouts into a separate container, you cannot tamp the earth in it. After the plants are transplanted, they need to be watered very carefully so that the roots do not rot. They need to either be sprayed from a spray bottle or not watered directly on the ground, but pour water only into the pallet, which stands under the containers. Watering should be regular, but not too abundant. After the standard warm weather is established on the street, and repeated frosts are no longer expected, the plants can be transplanted into open ground. But first, the plants need to be hardened for two weeks, taking them out into the street, gradually increasing the residence time.

How to transplant correctly.

In order to plant plants on the street, first of all, you need to choose the right place for them on your site. The place should be well lit by the sun, and the groundwater should be very deep. The landing pit must be prepared in advance. Its depth should be more than half a meter, and drainage must be laid on the bottom. It can be made of stones or broken bricks. Lowering the seedling into the hole, you need to carefully spread the roots. The seedling is installed exactly in the middle, and a high stake should be installed next to it for support. It is not necessary to deeply deepen the plant, the root collar should be no deeper than 10 cm in the ground. After your plant is planted and the ground is compacted, the seedling needs to be well watered and mulched. In the case of clematis, peat is perfect. As the plant grows, you need to add earth to it. This will stimulate the growth of new, strong shoots. But the tops of these very shoots must be pinched.

Care

The whole care of a young plant is that it needs to be watered regularly and the necessary fertilizers applied on time. Initially, the first feeding should be done two weeks after planting. The seedlings will have time to take root and urea needs to be added to them. To do this, you need to dilute 1 teaspoon of urea in 10 liters of warm water. After the first feeding, after two weeks you need to carry out a second one, this time you need to add a mullein. If there is no mullein, then it can be replaced with a mixture of mineral fertilizers. Subsequent feeding should also be done every two weeks. To do this, you also need to add mullein or mineral mixtures. The mixture should be diluted in a ratio of 2 teaspoons to 10 liters of warm water. Before winter, the plants must be covered. If you follow all the conditions for sowing seeds, then clematis begin to bloom already in the first year of life. If something is done wrong, then they bloom only after a year. If you do not want to be engaged in picking seedlings, then you can initially sow them one by one at the required distance. And if you really don't want to bother with seedlings, then they can be sown directly into open ground in the fall, but such sowing may not give 100% of the result, because the plants can simply freeze out in winter, but if they still grow, then they will definitely be more stronger than the ones you grew at home.
