Growing tomatoes in a greenhouse
Tomatoes are nutritious vegetables and are used almost everywhere; bright, juicy - no salad can do without them. There are several ways how and where to plant tomatoes. It can be a greenhouse or a garden bed in the open field. Let's take a look at how to plant tomatoes in a greenhouse. The cultivation itself is not difficult, but it also requires attention and effort. For the greenhouse, it is advised to choose varieties such as hybrids and amateur ones. Hybrids are stored longer than amateur ones, but not as juicy and tasty.
It is necessary to prepare the soil for planting: the soil must be dug up, fertilizers and humus must be applied. The ground also should not be cold, tomatoes do not like cold, if you plant in a panic - you can put a film on the ground. The beds should be up to 40 cm high, 60-80 cm wide. Next, we make holes up to 30 cm deep, about 60 cm wide. Add phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers to the holes. We plant the seedlings slightly at an angle, then water and fill the earth, compacting it. After a week, you should look at the leaves, if they are greasy and crowded, then this is bad, it means a lot of nitrogen. In this case, the earth needs to be fed with sulfate, and 5 cm sawdust should be placed below.
Tomatoes do not like winds and cold. Ground preparation is also important. Now in the store you can find tests for measuring the acidity of the soil; if the figure is below seven, then it is worth adding lime, if above - sulfur. Compost is an ideal planting medium, if the soil is poorly heated, it should be covered with foil.
Usually you should not rush, and it is better to do this not earlier than May - June. Disembarkation is best done in cloudy weather.
We leave a distance of up to 70 cm between the prepared beds. The bushes are placed in two rows, for low varieties we make a gap of 30 cm, for high varieties - 45 cm.Water the earth before planting, make holes about 15 cm, then add humus. We put the sprout very carefully in the hole and fill it with compost and earth, water the sprouts after 10 days and huddle.
The main thing is to monitor the absence of weeds, watering tomatoes in the greenhouse is not required often, but you should not keep dry soil either, since if the soil is too dry, the fruits will rot. You can harvest as soon as the fruits turn red. Do not overdo them. The fruits are collected carefully, breaking off the stalk with a calyx. Growing tomatoes is painstaking work, but the result will undoubtedly please you.
