Cherry propagation
Cherries are propagated either by cuttings or by grafting or root growth.
If you decide to separate the necessary planting material from the mother tree, then the excavation of the roots should be carried out only in early spring. Step back about one meter from the tree trunk. The roots are cut into cuttings. And then they are planted in a greenhouse or on a special bed.
If you decide to start grafting, then this planting material should be prepared in the middle of summer. At the same time when the bottom of the cutting is already firm. And the upper part will still remain soft.
In order for the roots to form better on the handle, it should be treated with a special stimulant.

Before planting cherries, you need to dig up the area. Then you should dig a deep hole. And add fertilizer or compost there.
If you plan to plant several plants, keep a distance between them. Once every few years later, you will need to apply organic fertilizers and annually - mineral fertilizers.
Moreover, the latter are usually applied in granular form to the surface of the soil. And then they are embedded in the soil. When choosing fertilizers, pay attention to the fact that they should be specifically for stone fruit trees. Since different types of plants need different trace elements.
In summer, you should also water your cherries regularly. At the rate of seven to eight buckets of water per tree or shrub. Remember to apply urea in the spring. And, for example, phosphate fertilizers only in autumn.
Organic fertilizers can be applied throughout the season. Regardless of what fertilizer you use, it is imperative to dig up the ground near the tree with a full bayonet. However, closer to the trunk, be careful not to damage the root system.
Cutting the cherries
As we noted above, cherries and cherries are not very fond of pruning. However, it is still necessary to thin out trees and remove dying and dying branches.
Prune the tree according to the shape of the crown you would like to see. Be aware that very tall trees will lose fruit. Since you will not be able to collect them all in time.
After forming the crown, cherries do not need pruning. Anti-aging pruning should sometimes be done. To do this, it is necessary to cut off the top of the main conductor from the side branches. And then thin out the inside of the crown.
It is necessary to make slight thinning along the perimeter of the crown. This pruning stimulates the growth of new shoots, which eventually begin to bear fruit.
