On the cusp, the berries are sweet and slightly sour. The score of a professional taster is approximately 3.8 points. The fruit is separated from the cutting rather dryly. The fruits are practically unsuitable for transportation and are not suitable for machine harvesting. The fruits can be eaten both fresh and after heat treatment, for example, in the form of compotes, preserves, jams, juices, etc.
Flowering, fruiting, yield of the variety
Triana felt cherries bloom at the end of May, 19-24. Fruits ripen in the twentieth of July, all berries at the same time. After grafting, seedlings begin to bear fruit a year after planting, self-rooted seedlings - for 3-4 years. The Triana felt cherry can bloom and bear fruit for 17 years. In addition, the variety assumes the pollination of plants either by other pollinating plants, or with the help of insects in connection with its self-infertility.
Triana cherry gives a good harvest, about 10.6 kg per bush. The trunk of the bush itself and its old and young shoots tolerate winter low temperatures well, flowers - spring frosts. The Triana felt cherry variety also tolerates drought well, but does not tolerate too much moisture, that is, it must be grown in greenhouses with prolonged rains. Has a high tolerance for coccomycosis and slightly lower for the development of clasterosporia. With an excess of moisture, the plant can get sick with moniliosis.
Felt cherry Triana: reviews of gardeners
- Ksenia Maksimovna, Samara region: “Triana felt cherry is one of my favorite cherry varieties. Triana cherry has excellent cold tolerance and excellent yield. The berries ripen quickly, are large and attractive to the eyes. And their taste is excellent. This is not the first season I have been growing Triana felt cherry, and every time I am satisfied with the result. "
- Victor Alexandrovich, Moscow region: “I know about Triana felt cherry because of my work. I grow Triana in a nursery and in a technical garden next to the points of further processing of fruits. I can say that this variety is ideal for this. Among other things, the Triana felt cherry has a large berry size, an interesting harmonious taste and always brings a large amount of harvest as standard. But nevertheless, I will note one drawback in the variety ... Triana felt cherry does not tolerate such a terrible ailment as moniliosis. "
