Cherry Subbotinskaya was bred by pollination of "Blizzard" obtained from crossing "Vladimirskaya" and "Mayak" on the basis of the Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture in Siberia. The authors are: G. I. Subbotin, I. P. Kalinina. The variety "Subbotinskaya" was entered in the state register in 1991.
