The Persistent cherry is a hybrid variety, which means that it was obtained by crossing two other varieties of cherries. Her parents were Zhukovskaya cherry, Cinderella cherry, as well as the dawn of the Volga region.

The creator of the Stoykaya cherry variety is A.F. Kolesnikova, as well as several other scientists who assist in scientific work. The discovery itself belongs to the All-Russian Research Institute for Breeding Fruit Crops.

In addition, it should be noted that the Stoykaya cherry variety is very young, since it was entered into the register only in 2006.

While the Resilient cherry is a fairly standard tree with beneficial physiological qualities, you should still have a clear idea of what its parameters are if you want to grow this plant.

Wood

Most often, the Stoykaya cherry variety reaches a height of about three meters. Moreover, it has a very spreading crown. Its shape is rather difficult to describe, as it is not pronounced clearly, however, it is quite similar to oval.

The crown density is average, which allows the plant to both receive enough energy from the sun and saturate the fruits with solar energy.

The shoots of the tree are of medium length, and they also practically do not bend or branch. Their shade is brownish brown.

As for the bark on the trunk: it is the same brown as the shoots. Unless it is just a little dimmer. It should also be noted that with age, the bark of the tree begins to peel off a little.

The kidneys are small in size. Most often they reach about four millimeters. Their shape is oval, not pointed.

The leaves are also not very pointed, and their shape is very oblong - oval. Also, along their edges, you can see extremely small and expressionless teeth.

In addition, the leaf plate is covered with a large number of veins that do not stand out in a different color, but strongly change the relief of the leaf.

Also about the shape, we can say that the leaves bend a little as they grow.

Speaking of cuttings, they are not very long, on average, about three and a half centimeters in length. However, they are quite durable, which does not allow the leaves to fall off prematurely.

The color of the glasses on which the fruits ripen, which we will talk about separately, most often grow in inflorescences in the amount of three to four pieces. Their diameter is not large two and a half millimeters, and the shape of the flower is saucer-shaped.

The color of the buds is white, and the petals touch quite tightly, so that during flowering the plant looks quite pleasant and magnificent.

Fruit

The mass of ripe cherries of the Stoykaya variety reaches approximately four and a half - five grams. Their shape is almost perfectly spherical, but on the sides the fruits are still slightly flattened and a third of a millimeter narrower than in height.

At the same time, the Persistent cherry variety differs in that the fruits have absolutely no funnel to which the stalk would be attached. Therefore, after harvesting, you get absolutely smooth berries.

The color of the fruit can be described as dark red, sometimes turning into burgundy. The pulp has approximately the same shade, and it should also be noted that it is incredibly tender and pleasant to the taste.

We can say that in her palette of taste, sour and sweet shades are mixed just perfectly. This is also noted by the tasters, who gave the variety an assessment - four and a half points on a five-point scale.

Do not lose sight of the fact how well the fruits come off the stalks, which makes picking them a real pleasure. This, however, does not mean that the fruits may begin to fall ahead of time, and therefore you should not worry about it.

However, one of the main advantages of persistent cherry fruits is the excellent separation of the bone from the pulp, which allows you to prepare preparations for the winter from this wonderful fruit without any problems, without messing the whole kitchen.

And, of course, like most cherries, this variety is full of useful vitamins and other substances, and the berries retain their useful properties, even when turned into jam or compote, which, of course, is an excellent weapon in the fight against diseases.

The flowering of the Persistent cherry variety begins around the second decade of May (on the fifteenth - twentieth days of the month). But the ripening of the fruits begins in less than two months - at the very beginning of May. Nevertheless, as you can imagine, these terms may well be postponed by unfavorable weather or insufficiently good care.

The Persistent cherry begins to bear fruit already in the fourth year of its life, and at the same time, in the very first year, the harvest will be almost complete.

It is also impossible not to notice that the tree is almost completely self-fertile, however, if you still want to get the most bountiful harvest from it, you will need to plant a pollinator.

On average, the yield without a pollinator, as well as under not the most favorable weather conditions, is approximately eighty-four centners per hectare, and with a pollinator and with perfect care - about one hundred and twenty centners per hectare.

Also, one cannot fail to note the excellent resistance of the cherry tree variety Resistant to cold and drought, for which it was called a resistant cherry. At the same time, even if the tree is slightly damaged, it will recover rather quickly.

Let's not forget about the fact that in addition to natural factors, the tree is also resistant to all kinds of diseases and pests, and therefore such ailments as coccomycosis or moniliosis will practically not be scary to you.
