Cherry Sania was bred by H.K. Enikeev and S.N. Satarova by crossing the other two varieties - Vladimirskaya and Crimson at the All-Russian Institute of Selection and Technology of Horticulture and Nursery. The Sania cherry variety was added to the State Register for the Central District in 2001.

Sania cherry trees are medium-sized, approximately 3 m in height; have a crown in the shape of a ball with dense, wide foliage. Shoots are long, greenish-brown, with a lot of leaves. The leaves are large, pear-shaped, emerald in color, without the characteristic luster of other varieties and with a serrated edge of the plate. The glands on the plate are thin, sparse, diverge throughout the entire leaf. Fruiting of Sania cherry occurs on last year's shoots or on the branches of inflorescences.
The fruits of the Sania cherry variety are burgundy in color with a red tint, relatively large, weighing up to 4 g, round, slightly flattened on top. It can be eaten both fresh and after heat treatment, for example, in the form of jam and compotes. The taste of the Sania cherry variety is pleasant, sweet, like other varieties, there is a sour taste. The pulp is dense, tender and juicy, the juice is in the color of the berry itself. Sania cherry separates well from the cuttings and from the small, rounded stone.
Sania cherry blossoms are a little late in the day, around the end of May. The yield is quite high, from 10 to 12 kg of berries can be harvested from a tree, 8 t / ha is harvested from an area of 5 × 1.5 m. The fruits of the Sania cherry variety are formed and ripen quickly, in addition, it is self-fertile and bears fruit annually without interruption. It tolerates winter frosts well, flower buds are less resistant to them, resistant to spring and autumn frosts. The most dangerous fungal diseases, these include moniliosis and coccomycosis, tolerate without significant damage, but still rather weak.
