Unlike many modern varieties of cherries, Cherry Dream of the Trans-Urals owes not to breeders, but to the amateur gardener Krivolapov M.F. The birthplace of the new variety is the Kurgan region, where in the city of Shumikha, the wild-growing shrub cherry, also called steppe, was crossed with the old Russian variety "Lyubskaya". Its origin is still controversial among breeders, but the dominant version is that this variety has long been cultivated by the population of the Kursk region. "Lyubskaya" is widely grown in the orchards of the national middle zone and became the progenitor of many varieties of cherries, including the Cherry variety Dream of the Trans-Urals
A seedling, cherry variety Dream of the Trans-Urals, was sent to undergo varietal tests at the Sverdlovsk horticultural selection station. Isakova M.G. took up the study of the novelty, who, along with M.F. considered the author of the Cherry Dream of the Trans-Urals. In the State Register, a new cherry variety has been present since 2004 and is recommended for cultivation in the Urals and in the Volga-Vyatka region.
