History of creation
Cherry Dubovochka was bred at the Dubovsky Research Institute, which is dedicated to the creation of various varieties of cherries and grapes. The authors of the crosses and various experiments were R. Korneev and L. Zhukova. They used the sowing method to breed a variety by mixing different seeds. Dubovochka was entered in the State Register shortly after its creation.
Cherry Dubovochka - description and characteristics
A tree of the Dubovka variety can grow up to 220-225 centimeters in height, while having a crown width of about 210 centimeters. In adulthood, the crown forms a ball, which is slightly raised upward. The branches are located at a short distance from each other, so it is necessary to carry out pruning 1-2 per year for the plant to develop and function well. The bark on the pole peels off a little, because of this, it is recommended to remove the upper layers on old trees. The bark can be gray or light brown in color. Shoots of a medium-sized plant forming an arc. They are brown-burgundy in color. Lentils are small in size, but there are a lot of them. If you look at the foliage, you can see their average size, as well as their interesting shape, reminiscent of an ellipse. The foliage color ranges from light green to dark green with a slight burgundy tint. The leaves themselves are dull, and also slightly taper towards the end. The plate is slightly concave inward and does not have any pubescence.
During the flowering process, the tree blooms with white-yellow or white-pink flowers, which bloom and smell good, refreshing the air around. Each soil can produce two to five flowers.
Characteristics of the fruits.
At full maturity, the fruits reach up to 3.9 grams, but fruits are also found in 5 grams. The color of the berries is burgundy with a slight black tint. The berries have the correct shape, without any roughness. The skin of the fruit is smooth and even, of medium thickness. Despite the thickness, the skin is very dense, so the berries do not crack even with temperature changes, as is the case with other varieties of cherries. The stalks are wide enough, but they are weakly attached to the berry, so the fruits may crumble before they ripen. The pulp inside is very soft and juicy, with a lot of fibers. The stone is minimal in size, it separates well from the pulp without difficulty. It tastes like a plum mixed with raspberries, and the aroma resembles hints of honey. It is because of the taste that many gardeners prefer Dubovka. The tasters rate the taste and aroma 9.4 out of 10 points, which is a high rating for cherries.
Each berry contains 18% of dry matter, 9% of natural sugar, 3% of vitamin C, 13% of useful microelements.
Cherry Dubovochka: harvesting
The tree brings the first harvest for 3 years after planting in a permanent place. The variety belongs to the early-growing, so the harvest ripens quickly. The first ripe fruits can be harvested in early July. Dubovka is a variety with a high yield level. I would also like to note that the fruiting of cherries is regular, that is, fruits appear in large quantities every year.
