Spring garden maintenance
There is a lot of work in the garden in the spring. The condition of the soil should be mobilized, buildings damaged by wind, snow or frost should be repaired, new seedlings should be planted, and old trees and shrubs should be put in order. Such is the difficult spring care.
Around the end of March, it is already possible to reveal the plants wrapped in winter. Young shoots usually grow on them and so that the bright rays of the spring sun do not injure them, this must be done on a cloudy day.
On last year's shrubs, cut dry and old branches. And the current shoots are shortened, due to which many new branches will grow, and the plant will actively bloom.
Also, it is in the spring that you can form hedges from deciduous plants and form the crowns of large trees. And in general, to plan the "population" of the site for the next fertile season. It is important to observe the whimsical nature of plants for the sun, light, shade, moisture. Also, not all plants can "coexist". And some, on the contrary, grow in absolute symbiosis. So, for example, onions and carrots will grow well even in the same garden.
The vast majority of plants prefer neutral or slightly acidic soil. The growth of plants depends on this indicator. This is determined by the calcium content in the soil. If this element is not enough, then the soil is acidic. It is best to use chalk or dolomite for calcining the earth. However, do not calcify the soil with other fertilizers. The interval between these procedures must be at least two weeks.
Compost is best suited for fertilizing the soil with organic matter. It is the ideal fertilizer for the soil. It contains all the necessary elements for nutrition, easily absorbs and retains moisture.
Green fertilizers will also have a beneficial effect on the composition of the soil and yield. They are also called siderates. These crops sprout very quickly and also quickly decompose when digging, forming humus. Green manure roots improve the structure of the earth, penetrate into the deep layers, and at the same time extract and transport various mineral compounds from the lower layers.
Leguminous plants enrich the soil with nitrogen. These are peas, lupines, sardella, beans, etc. These crops must be sown evenly in the spring in your area.
Mineral fertilizers must be scattered around each shrub and watered abundantly. A large number of multicomponent fertilizers are currently on the market. They must be entered according to the instructions. Is that the maximum dose is applied to clay soils, and the minimum dose specified in the instructions to sandy soil.
Mid-March - mid-April is the most suitable period for planting new seedlings of shrubs and fruit trees. They are sold with an open root system. Young seedlings should also be planted carefully and correctly, observing the temperature regime and the distance between the seedlings. After planting, young plants need to be fertilized and watered. Spring care is something that should not be neglected if you want to get a rich harvest in the summer.
