Fertilizer for pepper: how to feed?
Content:
It is quite difficult to grow good seedlings of pepper, since this plant is very demanding and thermophilic, and even growing an adult plant so that it is healthy, gives a large and tasty harvest is even more difficult. Peppers just need special conditions and proper care, in which the main part is fertilizer for the pepper. If fertilization is not enough for the pepper, then it will grow poorly, stretch upward, and you will not get a healthy, lush bush, the harvest will be small and not tasty, and without top dressing, the plant is more often exposed to various diseases.
Fertilizer for pepper: how often they apply
You need to feed the pepper correctly and apply fertilizers at a certain time, the quality of the land on your site, the variety that you have chosen for planting and the climate in which you grow it, affects the frequency of fertilizing. If your land is empty, then the pepper will not develop at all, since it needs a nutritious soil in which there are enough elements for proper development. That is why, initially, to plant seedlings in open ground, you need to prepare and fertilize it in advance. If you have normal land on your site, then up to five dressings are added to it per season. The very first feeding is carried out at the moment when the peppers are planted in separate cups. Then the seedlings are planted in the previously fertilized soil. And after two weeks, when the plants take root, feeding should be repeated. The fertilization is repeated at the moment when the pepper begins to bloom, and after about two weeks it is fertilized again when the fruits are tied. During growth and ripening, peppers are not fed, this can be done only as a last resort, because if you feed at this time, this can negatively affect the quality of your crop, the size of the peppers and its taste.
Fertilizer for pepper: how to do it right
It is very easy to find out if you have applied the fertilizers correctly; with proper feeding, new leaves begin to actively grow in the bush. If the plant turns pale, stops actively growing and the already grown leaves may begin to fall off, this means that you have made a mistake somewhere.
To understand what kind of fertilizer your plant needs, just look at its appearance. The dull color of the plant, withered leaves and its thin stem means that it lacks calcium, nitrogen, boron, phosphorus, iron, copper, manganese and zinc, all these elements are simply necessary for pepper, respectively, and fertilizers need to be applied that will make up for this deficiency ... For pepper, there are only root dressings that are poured strictly under the root of the plant, in no case should they get on the leaves of the seedling, but if suddenly this happens, then the leaves must be rinsed immediately with water.
Also, pepper should be planted in the sunniest area, because if the sun is not enough, then you need to feed the plants with potassium as much as possible.
Folk feeding methods
In this case, they often resort to folk remedies: they make an infusion of eggshell - the shell of three eggs is crushed and poured with three liters of warm water, insisted in a dark place for four days and watered with this infusion of plants, this is especially useful for seedlings and only planted peppers ... Also, when planting, you can add to the ground, just crushed shells.
Herbal infusion - this infusion is very useful for active growth and increasing the number of crops. For infusion, take chopped leaves of mother-and-stepmother, dandelion, plantain,
wood lice and nettles and fill them with water in an amount of 1: 5.All this is insisted for a week and the plants are watered, one liter for each bush.
Also, when planting seedlings, a handful of wood ash is added to each bush, this contributes to the rapid development of seedlings.
Feeding with yeast is carried out, in this case the roots of the plant develop very quickly, and its bush becomes larger and more luxuriant. To do this, take one kg of raw yeast and dilute it in five liters of water, insist for one day in a warm place, then add a little ash to the solution, and water the plants. This infusion cannot be used without ash, because yeast leaches calcium from the earth, and ash replenishes it, creating a balance.
Peppers are also fed with banana peel infusion. The peel from three bananas must be chopped and insisted in a bucket of water for three days, then strain the infusion and pour pepper on it. There is a lot of potassium in the banana peel, so such a top dressing is simply necessary in the spring.
Plants are also actively fertilized with bird droppings and humus, but you need to use one thing. Both droppings and humus must be diluted with water, otherwise the plants will simply burn out, so the droppings are diluted in accordance with 1:10, and humus 1: 5. This solution is used for watering.
Ash - thanks to it, the amount of the crop and their taste increases. One tablespoon is diluted into two liters of warm water and the plants are watered with this mixture, and this is one of the most useful and easiest ways to feed pepper.
There is also iodine fertilization. For this infusion, take one liter of water, 100 ml of milk whey and two drops of iodine. All this is well stirred and watered each bush. Moreover, you cannot take more iodine than the specified amount, otherwise your plant will simply burn out.
Complex preparations
These fertilizers are absolutely natural and useful, but if you don't want to mess with infusions and waste time, you can use ready-made fertilizers such as Agricola, Uniflor-growth, Gomelskoe, Nitroammofoska and the like. But all these drugs must be used strictly according to the instructions that come with them.
You can also use ready-made fertilizer for pepper, such as "Ideal", "Kemira-Lux", "Aquadon-micro", "Orton-Fe", they already have all the necessary elements in the complex, thanks to them the pepper grows well , has lush, healthy bushes, is resistant to any disease and yields a high-quality crop in large quantities. And the main thing is to tinker with them, measure portions, and so on. Absolutely unnecessary. The main thing is not to buy fertilizers anywhere, it should be done only in trusted gardening stores. All mineral fertilizers must be selected according to their composition based on the composition of your soil, and depending on what exactly you buy fertilizer for and what problem you want to deal with. In this case, organic fertilizers are simpler, they are made from everything that you can have on hand, chicken droppings, humus and even manure. But with the latter, you need to be more careful, because it may contain pests or some kind of disease, and it will be difficult to fight with them later.
