Western thuja Tini Tim: variety description
Ephedra Tini Tim has a spherical neat crown, which is distinguished by a deep green color. This variety is very winter-hardy, it can be planted to create living borders, hedgesthat will separate the different areas of the infield. At the same time, thuja can perfectly fit into the design of alpine slides, and simply revive lawns, which can also be decorated with many other annual and perennial crops. Another feature of thuja is that it is completely unpretentious, and it also does not interfere with the development and growth of other home crops, which is also a huge advantage. In this article, we will dwell in more detail on the description of this plant, its properties, external characteristics, as well as the possibilities to make the thuja even more decorative and attractive (agrotechnical rules, care and preventive measures).

Tui are quite decorative, and at the same time not whimsical at all, if we are talking about events that are associated with caring for them. Breeders are still looking for new opportunities to create ideal coniferous shrubs that will propagate species of evergreen conifers that delight the eyes of designers and gardeners who are interested in growing and propagating them. To date, summer residents and landscape designers have more than several dozen of the most different varieties and varieties of thujas, which differ from each other in height, size of the Tini Tim crown, its color, as well as the purpose of thuja in one or another area of agronomic or design activity.
The western thuja Tini tim is a small, almost dwarf thuja that has several characteristic features. It grows very slowly, which is generally characteristic of a large number of conifers. Thuja has a dense crown, which is very rounded, more like a sphere, occasionally it must be formed in order to maintain an aesthetic appearance. The shoots of thuja are very thin, branched, elastic, and the needles are scaly in themselves, they do not lose their attractive decorative properties throughout the season, pleases the eye of gardeners both in summer and in winter. Thuja looks especially decorative against the background of the snow that has fallen, as if reminding that a piece of evergreen summer is still present on the site.
Western thuja Tini Tim: planting and care
As a rule, bushes are planted in open ground at the age of two to four years. Only by the age of ten thuja Tini Tim can form a full-fledged crown in height up to thirty centimeters. The crown diameter at this point is about forty centimeters. As the plant grows older, the crown begins to grow, expand, sometimes it needs to be cut for formative and sanitary purposes. At the same time, the height of Tini Tim does not go beyond one meter, but the crown can grow almost indefinitely, which is the peculiarity of this variety of thuja.Best of all, Tuya Tini Tim takes root in well-lit areas, or in partial shade. It is not recommended to place the bush in absolute shade, otherwise this can lead to the plant losing its decorative features, the crown will not be so bright and saturated, it will look tired or withered.
One of the reasons thuja is such a popular perennial is that it is completely unpretentious in terms of soil selection and maintenance, and this is a huge advantage for those gardeners who do not have time to care for the plant. Thuja can adapt in soils of different composition, but it is still best to choose a loose soil, which will be a substrate equipped with the necessary nutrients. It should not accumulate a large amount of moisture inside itself, therefore, even before planting a bush in a pit, it is better to equip a drainage inside.
Thuja Tini Tim's globular thuja tolerates drought very well, and can also function quite normally in high humidity conditions. The main thing is that such manifestations are always only in moderation, so that watering or overdrying can be regulated by the gardener himself, starting from climatic features. But in especially extreme and unfavorable climatic conditions, it is better not to expect at all that thuja will give maximum growth and decorative effect.
The plant still needs to grow in normal soil and in a well-lit area, and then it will not give the gardener any problems at all. As for the frost resistance of thuja, it is worth mentioning separately: the thuja has a very dense crown, and due to this, the bush can tolerate severe frosts. Without additional shelter, thuja can withstand temperatures down to -34 degrees. But some experienced gardeners still cover the thuja with spruce branches or agrofibre so that the plant does not once again experience colossal stress.
For planting thuja Tini Tim, we choose a well-lit area, the soil should be loose enough so that the root system of the plant is constantly supplied with oxygen. Thuja may not develop in overly dry or overly moist soil. So it is better to install drainage at the bottom of the planting pit. This will not only give thuja additional chances for normal development, but also prevent the risks that rot or fungal diseases will develop, which are so common if we are talking directly about the root system of various crops. Garden soil for planting should be mixed in peat and sand, and you can also add no more than fifty grams of complex mineral fertilizer, which will saturate the plant and the soil around it, and at first no feeding will be needed at all.
Thuja seedlings, as a rule, are purchased in specialized receivers. They need to be very carefully examined for damage or developing diseases. Thuja Tim Tim are usually grown in pots or containers, so their root system is initially protected and adapted to certain conditions. It is necessary to plant a bush together with an earthen lump, while it is not shaken off and its integrity is not violated - so it will be even easier for the root system to adapt to completely new conditions, and the thuja will very quickly give the first signs of its growth.
The root collar should, after sprinkling with earth, be at its level. If this rule is not observed, then some negative consequences may develop: the development of thuja simply will not occur, it will not give any signs of growth, or the growth will be very minimal. The risk increases that the lower part of the trunk will undergo rot, and it is very problematic to deal with them - the bush will simply have to be removed from the site and thrown away. The plant, in principle, can die even before the gardener expects any results from him, if we are talking specifically about the growth of the plant, about its development or decorative features.
After the hole has been covered with soil, it must be morned slightly, and the plant must also be given abundant watering. It is recommended to moisten the soil with settled warm water, in which there is no precipitation. Such water is ideal for thuja and is well perceived by it. Further, Tuya Tini Tim will only need the most standard care procedures. These include regular watering, weeding, and loosening of the soil. It should be remembered that the soil must be loosened very carefully. The fact is that the root system is very close to the top layer of the earth, and when loosening it it is very easy and simple to damage it. You can loosen the soil to a depth of no more than eight centimeters, then the root system will be completely safe.
When a severe drought sets in, it is best to keep the plant well moisturized to prevent the topsoil from drying out too much. In order to refresh the crown of a thuja, it can also be irrigated with water directly from above. But it is best to do this either in the early hours of the day, or in the evening, when the sun has already disappeared behind the horizon. In the spring, thuja should be fed; for this, the gardener can purchase special mineral mixtures that already contain all the necessary components, minerals and vitamins. They saturate the whole plant, so one feeding is usually enough for a whole season.
Tuya Tini Tim in landscape design
Varieties of spherical thuja Tini Tim differ in that the bushes are very compact and neat. They grow slowly, the needles do not change their color depending on the time of the year. Therefore, there is absolutely nothing strange in the fact that the thuja of this variety has become the focus of attention of many designers and gardeners. The plant can be planted in single plantings, and with its participation, you can also create incredibly beautiful decorative compositions, flower beds.
The flower bed is very calm about excessive air pollution or unfavorable environmental conditions. It emits components that, on the contrary, purify the air around, and this also has some of its special advantages, which must be borne in mind. Everyone will like this cute and unpretentious shrub, the most important thing is to give him basic care measures and monitor his general condition. Pruning a bush is not a problem either. He tolerates it well, and sanitary pruning every few years is considered the main necessity.
It is best to do it around the spring, when the plant has not yet fully woken up after the winter period. In general, if a bush is planted with other crops, it does not affect them in any way. It actively takes root next to other annuals and perennial crops, which is also its great advantage. If the gardener decided to transplant a bush, then this procedure is undesirable, especially for those bushes that have reached the age of ten. It is better not to touch or move such bushes at all, since the chances that they will calmly take root in new conditions are always extremely small. Therefore, it is initially necessary to compare in what conditions the thuja will grow, so that then there is no need for its transplantation or other movements.
