It is no secret that the main purpose of the greenhouse (greenhouse) is additional protection of plants from various adverse influences from outside. Insects, pests, harsh weather conditions, small rodents - all this creates constant problems for gardeners, because they can lead to damage and even death of plants. In addition, greenhouses allow you to grow crops much longer than plants growing outside the greenhouse conditions. Thus, a greenhouse created with your own hands will definitely pay off all the forces expended on its construction.
In order to build a greenhouse with your own hands, you need to know several important rules, without which the construction will not be efficient enough.
The first rule is to choose a suitable place to build. The place should be selected in such a way that it is well illuminated by the sun from all sides while being protected from strong gusts of wind. Obviously, strong gusts of wind can break the building, in which a lot of work has been invested, and without the sun, the greenhouse will not be additionally heated in severe cold.
Do not forget that if you want to create a truly high-quality greenhouse that can serve you as a faithful friend for more than a dozen years, you will need to put water, electricity and gas into it. Artificial light will be useful on those days and weeks when there is not enough or no sunlight at all. And without watering, not a single vegetable can grow, no matter how strong and high-quality the greenhouse is. Based on this, in order to avoid future problems, you do not need to choose a place remote from communications for building a greenhouse.
If you decide to build a small greenhouse with your own hands, you also need to choose such a place so that the frame of the building can be installed evenly on it. The thing is that an uneven surface, albeit not immediately, but over time, will definitely negatively affect the frame, which in turn can lead to displacement of the greenhouse and even to its independent destruction. It is especially important to have a flat surface for those areas where a large amount of snow falls in winter; large blocks of snow on the roof of the frame will be an additional load, and on a flat surface the load will be distributed more evenly.
Another important point to consider when building a greenhouse is, of course, its size. To do this, you need to understand what kind of plants you want to place in the greenhouse. In addition to size, shape can also affect the efficiency of a building. For example, for tall, low bushes of tomatoes or for peppers, an arched shape of a greenhouse is better suited. And for tall plants, it is better to make a so-called gable greenhouse.
According to experienced gardeners in self-construction of greenhouses and greenhouses, a tent frame is most suitable for areas where the sun is rare; the round shape will be evenly illuminated over the entire surface of the greenhouse, even with a thin ray of sun.
And of course, do not forget about the aesthetic component of your future building.A greenhouse harmoniously integrated into the overall design of the site, in addition to the functional component, will be an excellent addition to the overall look of your garden.
