We create a garden in an unusual style
Content:
Gardening is the oldest art. Its history is closely related to the history of human development. After all, no matter what place people chose to live in, it had to be arranged for themselves and a garden in an unusual style had to be created.
The first gardens appeared around the sixth century BC in Palestine, Asia Minor and Mesopotamia.
Fruits and berries and herbs were used for food, diseases, and many crops were grown for sale and helped to make a living.
Nowadays, the term "gardening" is more perceived by people as a hobby. The garden, or as it is customary to call the dacha, for many is a place of rest after hard routine work in the office. Therefore, the garden for the majority is primarily aesthetic rather than practical. After all, how pleasant it is on a summer evening to enjoy a cup of fragrant tea in a hand-made gazebo made of grape leaves.
Different countries have their own characteristics and manners of gardening, which are dictated primarily by the climate. Also, each nation has its own aesthetic preferences. Let's try to figure out how to recreate a small piece of your beloved country on your site. And we will take as a basis the beloved theme of the Mediterranean.
Greek style garden
The first association that comes to mind is light clay walls and of course olive trees. To make a garden in the Greek style, we need shades of dark blue, white and turquoise, everything that will be associated with the sea and relaxation. Furniture must also be appropriate. Large wicker rattan or vine chairs, a round table will be very appropriate here. Paths should be laid out of stones or pebbles, similar to those that lead to the azure coast.
In different parts of the garden, you can place amphorae and pots, dazzling with a variety of flowers in pink. It will not be superfluous to give the pots themselves the look of antiquity, making chips and cracks on them.
The most important aspect is landscaping, which is characterized by a kind of creative negligence: no correct geometry, sharp corners and straight lines. Sprawling bushes, trees with fluffy crowns. A real find for those who want unpretentious beauty that does not require constant care.
Don't forget about such an important detail as aroma. From the first steps you should be greeted with the scent of herbs and flowers. The main assistants in this matter will be cypress, boxwood, juniper, rose and lavender.
When building your garden composition, avoid accents in the center. The chosen style is characterized by naturalness, all elements are scattered in their places and do not have to be connected in the center with each other.
To maximize the character of sunny Greece, it is also important to use open sheds or pergolas, with vines climbing over them.
Italian garden
Continues the theme of the Mediterranean, but it is characterized by a clearer geometry in comparison with the Greek style. Here carpet beds, planted according to the principle of mosaics, and lawns will be appropriate here. Choose flowers to your taste, the main thing is to make it bright. Perfect for these purposes: roses, fuchsias, lilies, marigolds and begonias.
Trees and shrubs here must also repeat a clear geometry, for this they are cut in the form of a ball, cube, or pyramid. Another element that complements your Italian-style garden can be a hedge.
The general color scheme of buildings and architectural forms should be dominated by white, terracotta and blue colors.
An excellent addition will be a grape gazebo, which will house forged furniture and sculptures. Also, a small fountain or pond of the correct clear shape will not be superfluous.
We looked at two examples of a Mediterranean-style garden with you. Each has its own characteristics, which can be taken as a basis and create a garden in an unusual style, and then trust your imagination and your sense of beauty.
