Black currant Sayan souvenir is a selection product of the MOOSSB of the Krasnoyarsk Research Institute of Agriculture. The variety was obtained as a result of crossing currants "Fluffy" and "Festival", and scientists VF Cherkashin, LP Muravyova, GA Muravyov worked on its creation. Since 2006, the Sayan souvenir currant variety has been undergoing state testing.

Black currant Sayan souvenir is a tall, moderately spreading shrub. Young shoots are straight, plump, colored in a light shade of green and have an anthocyanin coloration in the apical part, there is no pubescence on them. As lignification progresses, the shoots become light brown, dull, and slight pubescence appears. The buds are medium in size, oblong-pointed in shape and light green in color.
Large green three-lobed leaf blade matt and wrinkled, the central lobe is larger than the lateral ones.
The flowers are medium in size, the sepals are a light shade of pink, the fruit cluster is medium in length.
Currant berries Sayan souvenir of an oval shape, with a thin black skin, wet tearing (that is, their skin is damaged during harvesting). Their weight is from 1.4 to 2.8 grams, and a pleasant sour-sweet taste is rated very high by tasters - by 4.8 points.
