Blackcurrant Chime: reviews of gardeners
-
Natalia Mikhailovna, Leningrad region: “The black currant variety Perezvon was advised to grow by a friend, as her bushes do not need to be covered for the winter (the variety has excellent resistance even to severe frosts). And the yield level of the Chime currant is just excellent. And with proper care, which includes watering, fertilizing, soil cleansing, pruning, prevention, additional pollination, the variety will yield many times more yields, I was convinced from personal experience. Evgeniya Vladimirovna, Moscow region: “Blackcurrant Chime has a very pleasant taste and appearance of berries. I did not notice any difficulties in caring for varieties that would differ from the care measures for other currant varieties. I know that Chime currants have a weak immunity to powdery mildew and kidney mites, but I haven’t come across this myself ”.
Note: Diseases such as kidney mites and powdery mildew are found with improper care, as it is he who weakens the immune system, and the bush becomes vulnerable. To prevent the appearance of fungal diseases or the attack of pests, it is necessary to carry out preventive treatments. Processing is carried out several times per season using a weak solution of Bordeaux liquid. Sometimes folk methods are used, for example, treatment with boiling water or garlic solution.
