Black currant Hera is a medium-ripening variety. The development of the variety was carried out at a research institute dedicated to horticulture and vegetable growing. In crossing, they used Belorusskaya Sweet and the Bredthorpe variety. The author is V. Ilyin. The Gera currant variety is in the state register of the Urals.

The Hera black currant bush reaches large sizes, it is dense, slightly spreading. The growing shoot is rather long, thick, with bends. The lignified shoot is smooth, brown-burgundy in color. The buds are small in size, conical in shape with a strongly elongated and pointed end.
The leaf has five lobes, it is medium in size, light green-turquoise in color with a slight yellow tint. The surface of the leaf is wrinkled, folded, with few veins. A leaf plate with a small fluff, slightly concave inward. Each blade has a sharp end. The largest lobe is the central lobe, which is much longer than the lateral lobes. The basal lobe is well developed. The bases of the leaves are rather wide, it has a small depression. The edges of the leaf are serrated, the teeth begin to curl with the onset of autumn.
The flowers are quite large, inconspicuous in color, white-pink. The flower is shaped like a glass. The petals are oval, with an elongated end, they are located freely, forming a lush flower. Sepals are even, claret-green in color.

The fruits of the bush are large, reaching 3.8 grams by weight. They are round in shape with slightly flattened sides. The color of the berries is black and blue. There are a lot of seeds inside the pulp. The berries have a sweetish taste with a weak aroma. The peduncle of the raceme is strong, thick, long, green in color. The clusters of berries reach 7-8 centimeters in length, the berries are evenly distributed along the entire length.
