Plum Dream was bred on the basis of the Dubovsky support point of the Nizhnevolzhsky Research Institute of Agriculture by sowing Early Blue grains by free pollination. The authors are: R. V. Korneev, L. K. Zhukov. Plum variety Dream has been on the state trial since 1980.
Plum Dream: variety description and characteristics
Plum tree A dream of strong growth, round crown, lush. The bark covering the trunk and main branches is gray in color and also flaky. The branches are located at an angle of sixty degrees to the trunk. Shoots are vertical, medium in length and thickness, gray-brown in color. Lentils are numerous. The buds are small, in the form of a cone, brown in color, attached to the shoot at an angle of forty-five degrees. The leaves are large, in the form of an oval, corrugated, green on the outside, light green on the inside, slightly pubescent, shortened, sharp at the tips. The leaf blade is concave. At the base, the leaf is round. The edges of the leaflet are concave, jagged. The petiole is elongated, green in color, covered with slight pubescence and pigment. There are 2 medium sized brown glands. There are no shamrocks. Flowers grow in pairs or singly, white, bare, medium in size. Fruits are formed mainly on curtains and weak one-year-old shoots.

Dream plums are very large, the average weight is fifty to sixty grams, wide, round, dark purple in color, they are covered with a plentiful wax bloom, the peel is strong. The upper part of the fruit has a small fossa, at the base the fruit is round, with a medium-sized funnel. The abdominal suture is small, not very noticeable. The inner content of the fruit is greenish-yellow in color, tender, fibrous, juicy, sweet. The stone is medium in size, round in appearance, it can be easily separated from the inside of the plum. The mass of the bone to the mass of the internal content is seven to eight percent. Colorless juice. Dream plums contain dry matter (15.86%), sugar (11.47%), acid (0.34%), ascorbic acid (8.78 mg per hundred grams). Plums can be eaten fresh or processed.
- Features of culture.
The dream begins to bloom from 1-10 May. Plums ripen from 1-10 or 11-20 September. The tree begins to bear fruit from the fourth to fifth year after planting in a garden plot at the age of one year. It grafts well on plum, quince stock, as well as on felt cherries. Depending on which culture the plum is grafted into, the life span is within fifteen to twenty-five years. The plum variety Dream is distinguished by partial self-fertility. The best varieties for pollination of plums Dream: "Early blue", "Volgogradskaya". The yield indicator is high. The average yield of plums seven to fourteen years old is seventy to seventy two kilograms. The level of resistance to the winter season is high. During cold winter seasons and winter periods, when there are frequent thaws and sudden changes in temperature conditions, flower buds can partially freeze. Plum has good immunity to diseases and harmful insects. The fruits are transported well. The plant is suitable for garden plots where the cultivation of crops is intensive.
