Plum Kuibyshevskaya blue was obtained by EP Finaev at the Kuibyshev Experimental Station for gardening from combining the varieties "Kuibyshevskaya Ternosliv" and "Renclode Bave". The plum variety Kuibyshevskaya was added to the state register in 1988 for the Middle Volga region.

Kuibyshevskaya plum: description of the variety and characteristics

Plum tree Kuibyshevskaya of ordinary size, grows quickly enough. The crown has the shape of a regular oval or ball, the density is estimated as medium. Brings crops on branches that have reached the age of two to three years. The bark on the trunk and main branches is even, gray and green at the same time. \

The branches are quite thick, grow straight, are red and brown at the same time, and have no pubescence. Lentils are quite small, they are of an ordinary size, the color is white. The foliage of the Kuibyshevskaya plum variety is of ordinary size and in diameter and length, the shape resembles an egg, there is a slight sharpening to the tip, the color is dark green, small wrinkles are noticeable, not shiny. The leaf plate is non-voluminous, the upper part of the leaf is slightly pointed, the base has the shape of a regular circle, no pubescence is observed. At the edges, the leaf is double-serrate. Stipules are of medium size and fall off rather early.

The petiole is of ordinary size, both in diameter and length. The glands are small in size, there are about one or two of them, the color is yellow, they have the shape of a regular circle. Inflorescences have single flowers, medium size, snow-white color.

The harvest of the Kuibyshevskaya plum variety is of medium size, but all the fruits have the same shape, most often the weight of one fruit reaches twenty-five whole and one tenth grams. The fruits have the shape of a regular oval or circle, the upper part of the fruit is also round, the base has a kind of depression, the hole is small. The abdominal suture is small, if you do not look closely, then you may not notice it at all. The peduncle is of ordinary size in length and in diameter, it is quite simple to remove from the branch, it is not strong attached to the bone. Basically, the color is greenish, integumentary blue, solid color. The spots located under the skin are white in color, in an average amount. The peel of the Kubyshevskaya plum is of medium density, does not have any pubescence, there is a large bloom of wax, it is rather difficult to remove it. The pulp is green in color, tender, filled with juice, inside it has one color. The juice has no color. It tastes sour and sweet at the same time. The Kuibyshevskaya plum stone is normally detached from the pulp, of medium size, the shape resembles an egg, does not have sharp edges, and is located in dimples. The fruits contain the following substances:

dry matter - fourteen point and three tenths of a percent.
sugar - nine point and twenty-five hundredths of a percent.
acids - one whole and forty-seven hundredths of a percent.
ascorbic acid - five whole and eighty-six milligrams per hundred grams.

Basically, the Kuibyshevskaya plum variety is used universally. The crop is used to make preserves, jams and compotes.

Features of the variety

The flowering process of the Kuibyshevskaya plum variety falls on the tenth - twentieth of the last spring month. The ripening time of the crop is usually later than usual. Harvesting time falls on the twelfth - twenty-second day of the last summer month. The presentation and consumer qualities are pretty good.The ability to transport fruits over long distances is available. A crop harvested three to five days before ripeness is well maintained for one to two weeks.

The fruit tree of the Kuibyshevskaya plum variety begins to bear fruit when it reaches the age of five to six years. The amount of harvest for this variety of plums is quite large, when they reach the age of seven to eight years, approximately they get a crop of up to twenty five to thirty kilograms, when they reach the age of nine to twelve years, approximately they get a crop of up to twenty six to thirty one kilograms. Healthier fruit trees of the Kuibyshevskaya plum variety bear fruit up to forty-five kilograms from each specimen. The harvesting process takes place every year. The crop holds on the branches quite well, does not fall off.

The level of resistance to cold in the Kuibyshevskaya plum variety is quite strong. In the 1978 - 1979 winter season, fruit crops had a total freezing level, which was estimated at one point and two tenths. The level of drought tolerance of this variety is common. Fortunately, this variety does not suffer from moniliosis. But it is prone to gum flow, but not much. There are years in which this culture is exposed to the plum stalk by five tenths of a percent.

Kuibyshevskaya plum is bred by grafting seedlings of "red early ripening", "October Hungarian", as well as "Kuibyshevskaya thorny" on the rootstocks.
