Plum Violet was developed at the All-Russian Institute of Selection and Technology of Horticulture and Nursery from combining varieties such as "Victoria" and "red early ripening". The purple plum variety was developed by a group of breeders, namely Kh. K. Enikeev and SN Satarova. This variety was added to the state register in 1997 for the central region.

The Violet plum tree is smaller than usual, about three hundred centimeters. The crown has the shape of a regular oval. The bark of the trunk has a dark gray color, the surface is not smooth, has roughness, the number of lentils is large. The branches are slightly inclined, internodes are of ordinary size. Flower buds have the shape of a regular cone, resembling an egg, while vegetative buds have only the shape of a regular cone. The upper part has a certain sharpening. The foliage is wedge-shaped, the approximate length is nine centimeters and five millimeters, and the diameter reaches five centimeters and three millimeters, the leaf plate is curved along the central vein, ordinary in consistency, no pubescence is observed. Serration of regular size. The petiole has anthocyanin, glands of ordinary size, the color is green and yellow at the same time. The number of flowers in each bud is two, the corolla is shaped like a saucer, the corolla is of medium diameter. The petals have a shape that resembles an inverse egg, their length reaches thirteen millimeters, and a diameter of ten millimeters, the value is one hundred and thirty square millimeters. The buds and petals of the Violet plum have a snow-white color, no corrugation is observed. The pistil is twenty millimeters long, the column grows straight, the stigma has a round shape. The cup of the Violet plum has no pubescence, the length reaches six millimeters, and the diameter is four millimeters, the shape resembles an egg.

The taste of Plum Violet is described by the tasters as meaningful. Fruits are usually attached to the fruit stem.
