Content:
The Ballada plum was obtained by crossing two varieties of the Caucasian and Kabardinian early Hungarian, and a hybrid was also added to the variety. Scientists conducted a large number of crosses until they were successful. All experiments were carried out by breeders Grigory Eremin and Svetlana Zabrodina, who are employees of the experimental selection station of the Research Institute dedicated to plant growing. After the Ballad pear variety was created, it was entered in the state register.
Plum Ballada: variety description and characteristic features
Plum Ballada is a low tree that, growing up to 5 years old, forms an interesting crown, reminiscent of an elongated oval. The branches are located at a great distance from each other, so pruning is very rare.
Features of the fruit
The Ballada plum variety is very large, slightly elongated and, when fully ripe, turns purple with a red tint. Each plum has a huge number of white dots, as well as a waxy coating that protects the fruit from damage. Inside the fruit there is a soft and juicy yellowish-green flesh. The plum has a sweet taste and the aftertaste resembles honey. The aroma of the fruit is pronounced, therefore, when flowering, the tree smells pleasantly. There is a stone inside the plum, but it is small in size, while it separates well from the pulp.

- Increased resistance to cold and frost... This plus allows the gardener not to cover the plant for the winter, as it feels great at temperatures not lower than -32 degrees.
- Also, the Ballad plum variety is distinguished by its good immune systemwhich is resistant to many diseases and pests.
Note: At the same time, in order to maintain such immunity, it is necessary to take good care of the Ballad plum variety.
