Plum Alexy was bred in the 2000s by breeder V.S. Simonov in Moscow at the All-Russian Institute of Selection and Technology for Horticulture and Nursery, in one of the leading research institutes in Russia in the field of horticulture. The variety was based on the seeds of the plum variety "Zanyatnaya" from free pollination.
Plum Alexiy: description of the variety and characteristics
Mature plum trees of the Aleksiy variety grow undersized, the average height of the trees is 150-170 cm. The crown of the tree has a rounded shape, with average thickening values. The leaf plate of the Alexis plum is medium in size, oval in shape with a pointed tip and uneven edges. The most favorable place for growth is the central part of Russia.

The ripe fruits of the Alexiy plum have a deep purple color, predominantly elongated-oval in shape and weighing from 15 to 25 grams. Plum has a sweet taste, juicy yellow-green pulp. The skin of the fruit is of medium thickness, on which a small layer of waxy coating begins to form closer to the time of ripening. The pulp of the Alexiy plum is of medium density, thanks to this, the stone easily lags behind the pulp.
Full ripening occurs in the second decade of September. Plum varieties Alexiy are consumed both fresh and processed. The average yield of the variety is 15 kg of fruits from one tree.
