Sinadenium: a description of the indoor flower
Indoor flower Sinadenium: plant photo
The genus Sinadenium is a member of the Euphorbiaceae family. The genus includes about twenty species, represented by variegated plants and shrubs. They grow wild in almost all tropics and subtropics.
The Sinadenium tree has a great height. It grows wild over three and a half meters. Originally from the dry areas of the southern African continent, Sinadenium. Shoots are dense, juicy, green in color, the surface eventually becomes covered with a bark of a pale gray shade. The leaves are arranged in turn, sit on shortened petioles, are presented in the form of an egg, their edge is smooth. The leaves are painted in a pale green color, on them you can see pronounced dark green veins that form a pattern in the form of a branchy tree. The leaf grows up to fifteen cm in length and up to six cm in breadth.
When the Sinadenium blooms, thickened, shortened peduncles that bear few flowers appear from the leaf sinuses located at the top. They are umbrella-shaped, contain small closed red flowers, resembling inverted hats, from which stick out bundles of stamens - "feathers". After the end of flowering, fruits of the same small size appear, which are three-segment capsules with burgundy seeds located in them.
Sinadenium: home care
Is it possible and how to care for the Sinadenium at home? Sinadenium can be cultivated in indoor conditions with ease, because it is not so whimsical to care for. But when cultivated at home, there is no flowering of the shrub.
Illumination level.
The house plant Sinadenium requires bright, and without fail diffused illumination. It is desirable to place it on the western or eastern windowsill.
With a lack of lighting, elongation of the stems of the Sinadenium flower and the loss of decorativeness may occur. If the light is very bright, especially with direct sunlight, the surface of the leaves may be covered with brown specks - this means that the leaves are burnt.
Temperature conditions.
The home flower Sinadenium is very fond of warmth; in spring and summer, temperature conditions of twenty-three to twenty-six degrees are required.
In winter, the plant needs a cool temperature regime. Moreover, there should not be less than ten degrees in the room. Otherwise, all the leaves may fall off.
It should be remembered that the higher the temperature at the location of the flower, the better the illumination should be. If in winter the temperature is the same as in summer, then the level of illumination should be identical. For this purpose, the bush should be supplemented with phytolamps. Otherwise, the internodes will stretch, the leaves will fall off, this will play a bad role in the decorativeness of the flower.

Watering.
This shrub grows wild in arid regions, so watering is carried out with extreme caution. Watering is carried out after the surface soil layer has dried to a depth of one or two cm. After watering, the excess water is drained and drained into the sump. When the liquid stagnates in the substrate, root and stem rot may appear.
But there should be no overdrying of the soil mixture. Otherwise, some of the foliage may fly around.
In the cold winter season, watering is reduced. And here, too, pay attention to how quickly the soil mixture dries out.Watering is carried out with soft, well-settled water at room temperature conditions.
Moisture level.
Sinadenium does not need increased moisture, because it is used to growing in fairly dry air. But for hygiene reasons, give him regular warm sprinkling (like a shower).
How to prune a Sinadenium.
The home-grown Sinadenium tree is fast growing and can be a good increase in green mass gain. Annual growth is more than twenty-five cm. To contain growth, you need to regularly carry out formative circumcision. In addition, due to pruning of the Sinadenium, the crown will be thicker, because a lot of side shoots will form.
Soil mix.
A suitable substrate for Sinadenium should be light, fertile, and neutral in acidity. To prepare the soil mixture, peat, turf, humus soil, brick chips and sand are combined into coarse grain, the components are taken in equal parts. In order to avoid the occurrence of rot on the roots, a little charcoal is poured into the mixture in a crushed form, and a good drainage from expanded clay or broken brick is laid on the bottom of the container when planting the plant.
You can purchase ready-made soil for planting in a specialized store. But experienced gardeners recommend pouring sand into it into coarse grains and small brick chips for loosening.
Transplanting.
Young plants are transplanted every year in the spring. The new capacity should be larger than the old one. Transplants of adult specimens are rare, usually once every three years.
How to propagate Sinadenium.
Reproduction of the Sinadenium is carried out in March-April days using stem cuttings. This method is quite simple. Cuttings are cut from the tops of the stems, they must have three internodes in a mandatory order. Cuttings are immersed in a container with warm water for a certain period of time to stop the milky juice. After the cuttings are dry, they are planted with a substrate containing sand and peat. Then the landings are necessarily covered with a cap made of transparent material (glass, polyethylene). In addition to this method, you can root the cuttings in water.
The seed breeding method of the Sinadenium is more difficult. Sowing is carried out in the spring in a substrate consisting of sand and soil. The container is placed where there is good illumination and temperature conditions within eighteen degrees. Before sowing, study the instructions provided by the manufacturer or read special sources.
Diseases and harmful insects
The indoor flower Sinadenium is immune to harmful insects and diseases. But the disease can overtake the flower due to illiterate agricultural technology. For example, due to the fact that the temperature conditions are too low in the room, or the water has stagnated in the soil mixture, then all the foliage may fall off and the development of rot on the root system. The foliage will also fall off if you change the light level (when the plant is transferred to the shade) or if you turn the container in relation to the light source.
Important! Indoor flower Sinadenium is a highly toxic culture. If milky juice enters the digestive tract, the body will be severely poisoned, in rare cases, a person may die. If the juice of Sinadenium gets on the skin, it will cause allergies and irritation. Therefore, work with this vegetation is carried out only with rubber gloves.
