How to properly care for a wrinkled rose
It is not too difficult to care for wrinkled roses. She is not very afraid of temperature drops, as well as dry weather. However, if you want your plants to bloom beautifully and abundantly, then follow the correct agricultural techniques.
Light... It is better to choose areas with a southern exposure for planting roses. A large amount of sunlight should fall on them. It can also be a flat area, on which the sun also falls. Protection from winds and drafts is a must.
Temperature and humidity mode... Additional shelter for the winter is usually not required. Most wrinkled rose varieties are highly resistant to low temperatures. Short-term drought in summer is not too terrible.
Priming. In order for flowering to be abundant, the soil must contain a sufficient amount of nutrients, and also be well moisturized.
Landing... It is best to plant these varieties of roses in the spring, before the buds begin to swell. Maintain a distance of about one and a half meters between plants. If you are planting roses to create a "living fence", then half - one meter is enough. Be sure to fertilize the soil before planting. The depth of the planting pit is at least ten to fifteen centimeters.
Fertilizers. It is necessary for the normal course of development of your plants to regularly make mineral and organic fertilizing. Mulching will also be useful. At first (two years), fertilizers do not need to be added to the soil. In the third year in the spring, you need to add urea. Then add organic matter every 4 years. Peat and humus are well suited for this. Minerals will also be required, they are brought in in the fall, in an amount of about fifteen kilograms. If you do not want your bushes to grow too much in the area, then place limiters in the form of sheet metal or other similar materials.
Humidity soil. Throughout the life of the plant, you need to water it abundantly. One plant usually requires about ten liters of water. You need to water the roses about three to four times in one season. However, if the fruits ripen in dry weather, then watering should be carried out more often.
Pruning bushes. To keep your plants decorative, they need to be pruned periodically. It is not easy, but necessary. The best time for this is autumn, after the entire crop has been harvested. In the first years of the plant's life, pruning is not done. However, with the onset of the third year, branches that are weakened and lying on the ground need to be removed.
You also need to process and remove root shoots that grow far from the plant. Shorten those stems that you left to eighteen centimeters. It is necessary to leave at the same time about five of the most developed branches. When these stems grow to seventy centimeters, the top must be pinched. This will make your harvest more abundant.
Then you should prune your shrubs every year. It is necessary to remove non-fruiting branches, as well as those that have damage. In general, one shrub should contain sixteen to twenty branches. Replace two to three stems with new shoots every year.
Breeding rules for wrinkled roses
There are three main breeding methods for wrinkled roses:
1) With the help of seeds. This is not a very effective method because the desired characteristics of the plant can be lost.
2) With the help of root shoots. To do this, they dig up offspring that have grown to thirty to forty centimeters. The rhizome is trimmed with a shovel. You don't have to do this procedure, but simply form the adventitious roots by hilling the site. You also need to add some humus and spill it abundantly with water. A year later, in the fall, you can cut the roots of the bush that grows with the stems, while leaving fifteen centimeters.
3) With the help of cuttings. Young cuttings are harvested in early June. They need to be cut from the bush along with 3 knots. Be sure to remove the foliage from the bottom. For the cuttings to take root well, treat them with Heteroausin. Apply fertilizer to the soil before planting. Cuttings should be planted ten to fifteen centimeters deep. There should be at least one and a half meters between the plants themselves. Then spill the soil well and cover with plastic. Leave one third of the plant's total length.

These varieties of roses have a fairly strong immunity against various diseases and harmful insects. However, if the rules of agricultural technology are not followed, roses may become weaker. And then your roses can become victims of attacks of powdery mildew, rust, rot and various fungal diseases. Also, with weakened immunity, sawflies, spider mites and leafworms can harm the shrub. If this happens, then use insecticides in the spring, before the kidneys have swollen.
