How the Kerio rose appeared

They had a very pleasant, persistent aroma of fresh tea leaves. Outwardly, they were also very beautiful. However, at that time, tea roses did not have sufficient immunity against major diseases and harmful insects, and were also exposed to frequent temperature changes that they could not survive normally. Breeders have worked for years to create improved versions of tea rose varieties, and luckily they have succeeded. The tea rose began to calmly tolerate weather fluctuations, and pests and infections practically no longer disturb the plants.
Thanks to Dutch breeders, the yellow Kerio rose appeared relatively recently, in 2002. The creation of magnificent roses that will not be afraid of frost, and will have strong immunity, was taken up by a well-known scientific organization from Holland in many countries. It was these people who invented such a wonderful variety of Kerio roses.
When this rose variety was registered, it almost immediately gained fame not only in its homeland, but also among gardeners in other countries. In particular, Kerio is very loved by our gardeners. Often the Kerio variety is used to decorate famous greenhouses, but it can just as well be grown in your summer cottage.

Rules for caring for a Kerio rose
It is not so easy to care for such a variety of hybrid tea roses as Kerio. But if you know all the intricacies of care, then you can get a very good result.
As for fertilization, they need to be done twice a year just before flowering begins. As a rule, Kerio currencies are fed in April, and the second time at the end of July.
For normal growth and development, your plants need the required amount of minerals and organics. Fertilizers, which contain a lot of nitrogen, are best applied in the spring. For this purpose, gardeners often use humus. This will help your plants to build up a lot of green mass, while the leaves of the shrub will acquire a beautiful bright color.
Please note that organic matter for shrubs can only be applied in a liquid state. The fact is that if top dressing is used in the form of a dry mixture, then there is a risk that the plants will receive a chemical burn.
As for watering, it must be carried out as the soil dries up, after a weak crust forms on the soil. Too much moisture is unacceptable for a rose, and even more so its stagnation. Use warm water for irrigation. It will be very good if it lasts at least a day. If you use a hose for watering, be careful. Water should not come into contact with the leaves of the plant, as the sun can cause burns. For this reason, it is better to choose the evening time for watering, when the sun is no longer so aggressive.
It is very important to prune climbing roses in a timely manner. Pruning is of two types: sanitary and formative. During the first, it is necessary to remove dried branches, as well as those that have been found to be damaged. Formative pruning is done to give the shrub a decorative look. Make sure that the tools used are well sharpened. The slice should be half a centimeter from the kidney. If you use unsharpened pruning shears or scissors during pruning, this can negatively affect growth. And subsequently it will have a bad effect on the subsequent flowering.
Why do you need to prune branches?
Firstly, this way you will rid the plant of excess density. It is worth remembering that the stems are cut towards the outer bud. If pruned the other way around, the shrub will begin to thicken as the branches begin to grow inside the shrub.
Secondly, thanks to pruning, they are removed by it, which have already become obsolete. Each season new shoots are formed in the shrub. All nutrition is directed towards growth, and as for the old branches, without the proper amount of nutrients, they simply die. Such dead branches must be removed so that they do not compete with young stems for food. In addition, pathogenic bacteria can accumulate on old branches that cause various diseases in the plant.
If you see that some branch begins to slope down, then cut it in the direction of the inner bud, and then it will be redirected in the right direction.
About pests and diseases of the Kerio rose
Provided that all growing conditions are observed in the correct form, the Kerio rose is unlikely to be visited by any diseases or harmful insects. This rose variety is not affected by powdery mildew and rust, while other roses may suffer from it.
This variety has good immunity to diseases of fungal origin, the root system almost never decays. If any of the above problems do arise, then this is most likely due to improper care and conditions for keeping the bush.
However, gardeners note that periodically Kerio shrubs suffer from attacks by spider mites, nematodes, and rose rot. It is important to notice damage in time and take appropriate measures. For this purpose, insecticidal preparations are usually used. They can be bought in a specialized store, and before use, be sure to carefully study the instructions.
