The cherry f1 hybrid radish variety was developed by Sakata Seeds Corporation from Japan in the 2000s. The originator and applicant for Russian registration of the variety is Sakata Vegetables Europe S.A.S (France). Cherriet f1 radish variety was included in the Russian state register in 2007, it is allowed to cultivate in all the expanses of our great homeland.
Cherryet radish is not particularly sensitive to the length of daylight hours, compared to other varieties of radish, which means that it can be cultivated outdoors and in greenhouse conditions throughout the spring and autumn.
Most sources claim that this variety is early ripeness. But judging by the description and reviews, then the variety is considered a medium-late ripening period, the period of full maturity begins 30 days after the shoots have appeared.
The leaf rosette is quite compacted, grows almost vertically and leaves a little to the sides. The leaves are painted in a gray-green color, appear in the shape of an inverse egg, tapering towards the base.
Cherriet radish itself is in the shape of a circle, its head is convex, has a red coloration. The inner contents are white, juicy, pleasant, will not become flabby even in bad weather.
Tasting assessment of taste and commercial properties - 5 points, moderate pungent taste.
Radish variety Cherriet has good transportability and long-term storage; it can stay in the refrigerator for 30 days.
Radish variety Cherriet f1 has an excellent size, the average weight of the fruit is 25-30 g, there are roots growing up to 5-6 cm and weighing 40 g. Moreover, large radishes, even if they outgrow, will not be empty, the pulp will always be juicy and fresh.
The variety produces generous yields. The average statistic is 2.5-2.8 kg / square.
With competent agricultural technology, 3 kg of radishes are collected from the square, and even more.
Radish variety Cherriet f1 has a high immunity to common diseases, for example, it copes well with fusarium, black leg, keel.

Cherriet radish seeds have already been treated with a biostimulant, they can already be planted, no additional processing is required. But you can pack Cherriet radish seeds by size if the spread is large. Groups: up to 2 mm, 2-3 mm, 3 mm and more. Each group sits separately so that germination is at the same time and the yield is better and higher.
The main characteristic feature inherent in the Cherriet radish variety is that on hot days and on long summer daylight hours, radishes are not subject to shooting, compared to most varieties of radishes. Instead, there is an active pouring of vegetables, because only for the sake of this the variety is cultivated. Therefore, the cultivation period of the variety is not limited to the spring or autumn season.Sowing and harvesting is possible throughout the summer season, even if the weather is hot.
Open air
As a rule, seeds are sown on open beds from 1-10 April days. In the south, it is possible to sow in the first days of March, it depends on the spring weather conditions. If you want radishes to always delight your table with their visit, then sow in a warm period every 14-21 days, ending on September 15th.
Radish variety Cherriet is not afraid of cold weather, seedlings have frost exposure up to -3 degrees, adults - up to -6 degrees. Optimal temperature conditions for better growth are + 12-16 degrees. In order for the cherry radish seeds to germinate at the same time, early in the spring, the seedlings are covered with a film material stretched over arcs, or a non-woven material of medium thickness.
Under optimal temperature conditions, seed germination of Cherryet f1 radish seeds can occur quite quickly, in 4-6 days. If the weather is still cold, and the temperature conditions drop to zero degrees, then the seeds will germinate in 14 days.
It is recommended to plant cherry radish in the place where cucumbers and tomatoes grew before. It is forbidden to plant radishes after such predecessors as: turnips, rutabagas, turnips, cabbage.
You can sow radishes according to any scheme, just keep an interval of 5 cm between the bushes, in order to avoid further thinning.
Most gardeners use planting in 2 lines, leaving a distance of 6-7 cm between them, 10-15 cm between rows. Other vegetable growers like to sow in transverse rows in rows, the interval between ribbons is 8-10 cm.
You need to deepen the seeds by 1-1.5 cm. If you plant them deeper, then germination will not occur at the same time and unevenly. It is recommended to sprinkle the grains with pre-prepared soil filled with nutrients or humus.
The main agricultural technique is watering. Watering should be regular and abundant, the soil should be constantly moistened 10 cm deep. Since, due to changes in moisture content in the soil, vegetables can undergo cracking.
As a rule, you do not need to feed radishes, especially if the ridge has already been well fed for its predecessors. Radish variety Cherriet f1 of early ripeness, he will have time to pull out all the nutrients that he needs from the soil.
Greenhouse conditions
Sowing in a greenhouse can be carried out already in March, in the south - in February, and sowing can be completed in October-November. If the greenhouse is heated, then you can plant the variety in the winter season, but taking into account the fact that if there is not enough lighting, the growing season will slow down, ripening will take 2 times longer.
When cultivating radishes under greenhouse conditions, do not sow Cherriet radish seeds too much. Since the radish leaf rosettes are compact, the sowing of seeds can be carried out according to the 6x6 cm scheme. When the shoots appear, reduce the temperature conditions to + 5-10 degrees. Watering at this time is required in moderation. As vegetables begin to form, temperature conditions need to be increased to + 16-18 degrees when the sun is shining and up to + 12-14 degrees when it is cloudy. The amount of watering increases, the earth should not dry out.
Problems with radish cultivation
- Shooting... The Cherriet radish variety is not affected by this problem. Perhaps, this can happen occasionally due to the increased temperature conditions during the summer season.
- The fruit is small, or its development is not observed. This may be due to a lack of light or the density of the planted plants, due to the deep sinking of seeds into the ground, due to excessive or insufficient watering. Another reason is soils without a structure, depleted in nutrients, or those soils into which fresh manure was introduced.
- The radish is not tasty. This is due to an overabundance of nitrogen-containing dressings.
- Root crops are cracking. The reason is a sharp change in soil moisture.
Diseases and harmful insects
-
Cruciferous fleas. These pests gnaw the leaves, when shoots appear, the radish can die completely. How to fight: cover the planted plants with a thin agrofibre for 14 days, before the roots begin to form, at this time fleas will no longer be an obstacle. Sprinkle tobacco dust, wood ash or a mixture of them on the bushes every 2-3 days. Spray with leafy infusions of tomato, celandine, tobacco, dandelion.
-
Keela... Symptoms: the formation of bulging on the root system, wilting and death of the radish. How to deal: do not plant radishes on the cultivation sites of the predecessors of the cabbage family. Downy mildew. Symptoms: white bloom forms on the leaves, the death of radish. How to fight: observing the interval between the bushes when sowing, spraying with phytosporin.

- Anastasia Alexandrovna, Sverdlovsk region: “The f1 Cherryet radish has an excellent yield indicator, of all the varieties that I have grown on my site, the Cherryet radish is the most productive. It is a pity that the variety cannot be attributed to early ripeness varieties, I would like to start enjoying this delicious radish as soon as possible ”.
- Ekaterina Vasilievna, Chelyabinsk region: “I have been growing cherry radish f1 for a very long time. The variety does not form peduncles, does not have voids in the roots (even if the vegetables are overgrown), the fruits of the Cherriet radish variety themselves are quite large, and they taste very pleasant. It is also very pleasing that the Cherriet radish variety has good immunity to various diseases and pests. "
