Works in the first half of June
Content:
Today I would like to talk about what work needs to be done in the first half of June. After all, the season has already begun and you need to do a lot of things so that at the end of the summer season you could collect a good and large harvest.
Works in the first half of June
1. After flowering ends, you need to feed fruit trees and shrubs. To do this, you should use organic matter (slurry, diluted bird droppings) or mineral fertilizers (this can be 20 g of ammonium nitrate, 15 g of potassium chloride, 20 g of superphosphate per 10 liters of water).
2. After the apple tree blooms, it will be necessary to carry out the treatment against the scab. To do this, take a 1% solution of Bordeaux liquid or the drug "HOM" (about 30-40 g per 10 liters of water). 3. It is very important to spray fruit trees and berry bushes immediately after flowering. For this, a combined solution of chemicals that are used to protect against all kinds of pests is best suited.
4. If you have strawberry beds on your site, then they must be mulched in order to avoid the appearance of gray rot. We now turn to the consideration of the plan of action for vegetable crops. 1. First of all, in the first decade of June, it is necessary to plant crops that love warmth in the ground - these are cucumbers, zucchini, beans, corn, pumpkin. 2. After about June 10, you can plant seedlings of tomatoes, eggplants, peppers in the ground. 3. Until mid-June, have time to plant carrots, beets, parsley, which you will prepare for the winter. 4. Start preparing to fight the Colorado potato beetle.
Fertilization rules for fruit trees
Now you can consider in detail the rules for how to fertilize pears and apples. If your pear and apple tree have become weakened after winter, then it is best to feed them with slurry. You should not do this later, because if you do not do it on time, it can interfere with the maturation of the wood. But please note that in the first year after planting, the tree should not be fertilized, because before planting, you fertilized the hole well with nutritious things, but at the same time, the trunks of the so-called young animals must be mulched without fail.
Planting seedlings
Now with regard to planting seedlings. Planting seedlings is best done in the afternoon, while it should be a warm, sunny day. If the seedlings were properly prepared for planting, i.e. it was sheltered from the sun's rays and wind with the help of burlap, and from the moment when it was taken out of the ground no more than an hour passed, then we can say with confidence that such seedlings will definitely take root in your summer cottage. A little trick will help increase your chances of success. The hole in which you are planting seedlings should be watered at the rate of 0.5 to 1 liter per plant.
Also, before watering, add one glass of humus or one teaspoon of complex mineral fertilizer, which, after you water the seedlings, will mix with the soil. These are the little tricks we told you and we hope that they will be useful for you and you can try them in practice at your summer cottage.
