Planting apricots in the middle lane or in the Urals
Content:
Delicate, soft, radiant fruit, similar to the sun, and all this is a unique and bright Apricot. Many gardeners dream of growing apricots in their area, but every spring they will be disappointed. The only thing that is possible is planting an apricot in a greenhouse, otherwise the early frosts will beat all the flowers and the apricots will not ripen. No matter how hard we try, the climate still plays a huge role in the cultivation of certain crops. And as much as we would like to, we often cannot do anything with the whims of nature. But if the climate in your region is not conducive to planting apricots, then it can be completely planted and…. in the greenhouse. Yes, in the greenhouse! And then no frost and whims of spring weather are afraid of him.
Planting an apricot seedling - general recommendations.
Usually, after planting a seedling, the apricot blooms very early, these trees are also very sensitive to dampness and cold, but despite the fact that the tree itself can safely survive the winter, early frosts, rains and winds often adversely affect the fruit ovary. But in a warm greenhouse, the apricot does not matter. Remember that your greenhouse needs to be heated around the clock. It is these conditions that are most acceptable for flowering and fruiting of apricots. But, unfortunately, the tree still has to be pollinated artificially. Sometimes apricots are grown in large containers, and over time, trees need to be cut very often and a crown is formed in the form of a pyramid or bush, since the possibilities of the greenhouse are not limitless and it cannot accommodate a 5 meter tree. If the trees are not very large, then on hot summer days, gardeners take them out into the street in order to vacate the greenhouse for a while and carry out the necessary work there.
Apricot planting rules.
It is preferable to plant apricots in containers, so it is much easier to take care of them, but in this case they give much less fruit. If your greenhouse is located near a wall, and besides, it is attached to the sunny side, then it is quite possible to plant an apricot near the greenhouse wall and form a crown in the form of a fan. The soil must be fertile and well-drained. Containers are often filled with a mixture of all-purpose compost and loamy compost. In order for a tree to bear fruit abundantly, it needs to be looked after. First, the apricots need abundant watering. Secondly, the tree must be regularly fed with fertilizers during the flowering period. Also in the spring, gardeners usually mulch the tree trunk circle and scatter fertilizer granules over the soil. A little later, they begin to apply liquid fertilizers. Remember that apricot often needs formative pruning and a tie to support. Avoid the formation of a large number of fruits, remove every third or fourth.
It may sound somewhat barbaric, but if you win in quantity, you will lose in quality, since a greenhouse apricot cannot produce a large number of fruits.
Planting columnar apricots.
In order for the tree to fit well in the greenhouse, you can buy originally miniature trees (seedlings), ideal for greenhouses. Often, gardeners also plant columnar apricots. Take proper care of your fruit trees and get round, tender and glowing apricots. And, in the future, a good harvest and…. appetite!
