We tie up the tomatoes correctly. Tips.
Correct garter of tomatoes in the greenhouse
We produce a garter of tomatoes for the good development and growth of the crop itself. Tomato bushes are sometimes not able to hold their fruits, so tie the bushes in time so that they do not break off. The garter also protects the fruits from bacteria and fungi, and also keeps the tomatoes intact.
Tomatoes that lie on the ground very quickly rot and become infected with various bacteria. Watering tomatoes is necessary at the root.
What do you need to use to tie tomatoes?
For a garter, use, for example, natural twine. If you tie a bush with synthetic rope, it will have a bad effect on the further growth of the plant. To make it take less time to garter a tomato, prepare the following materials in advance: wood or metal rods, twine or cut strips of fabric. Do not cut too narrow strips, the most optimal width of the garter is considered to be a width of up to 5 centimeters. Sometimes gardeners use nylon tights for garters, they can be used several times in the future, since they do not rot for a long time.
Never use a thread or fishing line to tie a tomato, as during the growth of the plant they will press on the stem and the plant will quickly die.
Garters that you reuse must be processed later. The garter material will need to be boiled and treated with a solution, so you reduce the risk of infection of the plant.
For the correct garter of tomatoes, do the following:
First you need to pinch the tomatoes
We prepare the necessary tool and material for work
Preparing the support system
Tomato garter is carried out depending on the variety
Water with plenty of water.
There is no difference between greenhouse tomatoes and tomatoes that grow on the street, plus the fact that tomatoes grow and ripen faster in the greenhouse. Tomatoes can be fixed in the greenhouse by any method.
How to tie up tomatoes in a greenhouse:
1. Tie up with wooden pegs. Each bush needs to drive in a wooden stake. Height is approximately 1 meter. Tie the stem to the peg with a piece of cloth and string. Garters must be kept clean. Tie the stem of the plant almost at the very top. Take a few turns around the stem and tie a knot. The disadvantage of this method is that here, as the plant grows, it will be necessary to bandage each bush.
2. Linear garter method. We take two wooden beams and place them along the edges of the garden. Take strong bars, at least 5 centimeters wide. We connect the ends of the bars with a metal wire and tie a rope to it from all the tomato bushes. We wrap the rope several times near the stem and stretch it to the fishing line, where we tie it with a loose knot. This method is very convenient, because then you will not need to tie up the tomato bushes again when they grow up. The bush will wrap itself around the rope.
3. The most difficult way to tie is - the trellis method. In it, structures made of wood or metal are installed along the entire ridge and a wire or twine is pulled between them. You need to pull it along the entire length, with a step of where in 30 centimeters. The height of the trellises must necessarily correspond to the height of the bushes.
Take the time and energy to build a solid structure for tomatoes. After spending a little time at the beginning of the season, the plant will delight you with its harvest at the end.
