Feeding pepper with yeast - what is it used for and how to make it
Content:
Bell pepper is almost the most important and key vitamin complex that fits perfectly into a gardener's summer diet. At the same time, in order to grow a really excellent and decent harvest, gardeners tend to try new methods and methods of feeding and, accordingly, often experiment with components and elements of feeding. When the peppers lack any trace elements, feeding the pepper with yeast is very effective to replenish them. Fresh yeast is best suited for these purposes, but if it is almost impossible to find it, then the gardener can use dry yeast. They consist of micro and macro elements that have a stimulating effect on plant growth and fruiting.
Is yeast good for pepper?
Feeding the pepper with yeast is necessary so that the plant accumulates all the many useful substances in itself, and thanks to them the plant's immunity will clearly increase. The yeast contains a sufficient amount of nutrients. Among them, we will highlight ergosterol, an amino acid complex, lipids, minerals and a vitamin complex, as well as nucleic acids and carbohydrates, which are extremely important for the growth and development of a culture.
When processing peppers with yeast solutions, do not forget about eggplants and tomato crops. Essentially, yeast is a versatile fertilizer that does little harm. If we work with open ground, then in any case it is necessary to provide it with additional conditions and care - fertilizers, weeding from weeds and grasses. Dry yeast takes less time to prepare the solution than live yeast. In fact, the difference between them is insignificant, although gardeners notice that there is much more benefit from live yeast, and this is a huge plus. If there is a drought, then the plants need additional useful and mineral substances even more. If you do not provide them, then you can provoke various bacterial and fungal diseases. Thanks to top dressing of pepper with yeast, you can count on the amount of the crop to increase significantly, and top dressing should be done about two to three times per season.
The chemical composition of yeast is very rich. It includes phosphoric acid, potassium and nitrogen, carbohydrates and a number of amino acids that can improve the condition of even the weakest plant. In addition, yeast is also rich in its lipid and protein composition, which also plays a very important role. At the same time, yeast is a plastic substance, it is able to slowly change its composition and structure, depending on which components they also interact with. Plants that were fed with yeast grow many times faster, and also bear fruit better. Practice has also shown that, in general, yeast has an excellent restorative effect on plants, they feel much more comfortable and better in new conditions, if they were previously fed with a yeast solution. Yeast acts on seedlings as follows:
- the plant becomes more hardy, even if it grows in unfavorable and unstable climatic conditions, and it does not have enough lighting
- thanks to yeast, the growth of the vegetative mass of the seedlings is enhanced, it germinates much faster and develops the upper and root parts
- the resistance and immunity of the plant to various bacteria, fungi, viruses, diseases and attacks from pests and insects increases, which is also extremely important to consider, because peppers can be attacked and do not always withstand them.
Such changes occur precisely due to the fact that the composition of the soil in a qualitative context changes, it becomes more favorable for a larger number of crops to grow in it. Yeast enters a favorable environment for them, beneficial fungi begin to multiply, spread in the soil, making it more fertile and suitable for such processes. At the same time, the fungi contained in the yeast are able to process all the organic matter that is located around the plants; more of such useful and important components as nitrogen and potassium are released in the soil. For this, both dry and fresh, live yeast are perfect, they are equally effective, the only difference is in the period of their infusion - dry it takes only a few hours, and alive - a day or more.
Methods for feeding peppers with yeast
Before the plant is in the open field, you should use several methods of feeding the pepper with yeast. The grower selects the most viable seeds, germinates them and gives them excellent care. He also observes the development of seedlings, the speed of their growth. When an average of 10 leaves are formed on the seedling, the first buds begin to form. It is at this time that the pepper is just planted in open ground. But so that all the work of the gardener is not in vain, it is still necessary to feed the peppers.
Since peppers germinate within about three weeks after planting the seeds, using yeast feeding can significantly accelerate the germination of peppers. The seeds can be soaked in a yeast solution for three hours, after which they are rinsed in the most ordinary running water and dried a little. Growth is activated exactly after the seeds have sprout. Also, the second time, yeast is introduced after the first formed leaves appear on the plant. If the grower wants to, he can feed the plants much more often than the schedule, but in general the yeast is safe and does not adversely affect the plant or soil.
Feeding peppers with yeast is possible both when the plants grow in open soil and in greenhouse conditions. You can mix yeast with ash, but at first, the components can be added to the plants separately. Further, it is necessary to carry out abundant watering so that the ash is quickly absorbed into the ground. On the third day after the plant has been planted in open ground, even the smallest and the smallest seedlings can be watered with yeast solution. In order to achieve the maximum success in these dressings and achieve efficiency, it is best to water the warm and well-heated soil.
Summer residents themselves speak extremely positively about the effect of yeast, claiming that the plants are activated, look healthy and viable. Even those bushes that initially did not show such hopes at all grow. In addition, the amount of harvest increases, and a rich harvest is a reward for any gardener.
It is also important to carry out top dressing on time, and sometimes this is much more important than regular watering of seedlings. In order for the peppers to be enriched with such essential components as phosphorus and potassium, as well as nitrogen, a tincture of wood ash should be used. Fertilization will allow the plant to grow faster, strengthen in the roots in order to receive even more nutrients through them. In addition, thanks to the potassium supplement, the plant becomes more resistant to frost or sudden changes in temperature. It also resists the most popular diseases that affect nightshade crops.Yeast is applied after the plant has been fertilized with ash, since yeast can in some sense neutralize the effect of the potassium component.
Even weeds can be effective when combined with a yeast supplement as they are great fertilizers. To do this, a bucket of mowed weeds is placed in a barrel for about fifty liters, a loaf of bread is crushed there and about five hundred grams of yeast diluted in advance is added. Pour all this with five liters of water and leave for several days in order for the resulting solution to ferment. After a few days, you can safely fertilize the peppers with the resulting mixture.
How to properly feed peppers with yeast
Yeast can be mixed with chicken droppings by adding wood ash to the same. The mixture is not infused for a long time - only for a couple of hours. After that, the top dressing is diluted in water and used as a root fertilizer.
Of course, when using yeast, you should still remember that, despite their safety, any fertilizer should be used with caution, observing some rules and regulations. Among these rules, we will highlight the following:
- if the plant is relatively young, then in general it will be enough for it to receive yeast solutions with a volume of no more than half a liter; for adult seedlings, one or two liters of yeast solution is enough
- feeding with yeast is equally good for plants that are located in open ground, and for plants that grow in greenhouse conditions
- seedlings are best watered with yeast solution before they are planted in open ground and just before they enter the stage of active flowering
- before the soil is treated with a yeast fertilizer solution, it is necessary to add ash and eggshells to it, as well as mixtures with a high potassium content. Thanks to this, the importance of feeding will increase several times.
- plant feeding should begin even when the plant is in indoor or greenhouse conditions, because this will raise the chances that the required amount of nutrients will already accumulate in it before planting in open ground.
Feeding with pepper yeast - how to cook
There are several basic recipes for yeast feeding that are equally beneficial for different crops, in particular, they have an excellent effect on peppers:
- 200 grams of dry yeast is mixed with a liter of water, the solution is settled for several hours. The concentrate is also diluted then with ten liters of water, and the solution can be treated with plants and seedlings.
- 100 grams of live yeast is diluted in ten liters of warm boiled water. The solution is infused for a day, and such feeding is considered more effective due to living trace elements
- 10 grams of yeast granules are dissolved in ten liters of water, sugar is added and infused for three hours. After that, the solution is also mixed, but already with ten liters of water, the seedlings and plants are watered at the rate of half a liter per bush
- if the gardener owns a large plot, then about a bucket of green grass, half a kilogram of crackers and half a kilogram of yeast are placed in a 70 liter barrel. All this is filled with water and infused for a day, after which large areas with plantations of crops can be watered with the solution.
- mix a tablespoon of dry yeast, a few tablespoons of sugar and ascorbic acid, pour it all with five liters of warm boiled water. It is better to insist the solution for a day or a little more, and then dilute in accordance with the required proportions and treat the area.
You can also process tomatoes with yeast, for this, while still in the seedling state, the tomatoes are given a yeast solution. You can also add bird droppings to it, but at the same time it is worth watering only the root circle very carefully, otherwise such a solution can cause irreparable burns to the root system of the plant, which will have an extremely negative effect on the future harvest and the general condition of the tomato crop.
Yeast feeding results
Tomato bushes are activated in growth, the stem will be filled with vitality and energy, and the leaves will become denser, fleshy, which will also have an extremely positive effect on the state of the plant and on its fruiting.
Also, thanks to yeast, the soil is saturated with oxygen, which makes it more fertile, and this affects in general not only the current plantings, but also those plantings that will be produced in the future. In addition, the gardener should not worry about the consequences of frequent use of yeast components - in general, they do not accumulate in the soil, but ideally saturate it, which, as a rule, cannot but have a positive effect on the condition of the site as a whole.
Pepper seedlings are distinguished by their whimsy, capriciousness. It is very delicate, so the gardener needs to constantly monitor that the plant opens up to the maximum, so that the destruction of the root integral system does not occur. Yeast perfectly stimulates the growth of seedlings, but you still need to remember that as soon as yeast fungi enter the soil, they begin to multiply rapidly in it: as a result, the soil is saturated with nitrogen and potassium and the complete absorption of calcium, which is also a significant microorganism. To avoid depletion of the soil, it is necessary, immediately after feeding with yeast solution, to treat the soil with ash or some mineral fertilizers, which include calcium. Yeast is a thermophilic component, so it is necessary to dissolve them only in warm water, and the plants should be processed also in the period of sunny, clear, warm weather.
Of course, the gardener receives only continuous benefits from yeast dressings. They force to activate the growth processes of seedlings, plants, shrubs, trees, and in general they differ in real efficiency, since the process is always there. Yeast is rich in components such as nitrogen and potassium, sodium and magnesium, iron and copper, phosphorus and carbohydrates, various vitamins and amino acids, so it is not surprising that plants, receiving such an extensive complex of substances, begin to show regular reactions - proliferation, active flowering, fruiting, which depends directly on the number of inflorescences on the bush. In addition, yeast is very tenacious, it multiplies quickly and actively in the soil and is able to adapt to constantly changing conditions. They are equally useful not only for plants, but also for the human body, therefore, when processing with yeast, the gardener may not worry about his own state of health at all.
Thanks to yeast, the soil can be enriched with potassium and nitrogen, stimulate the growth of the root system of seedlings that have just hatched, or if they were planted in open ground, and they need components that will help it adapt faster to environmental conditions. In addition, the immunity, endurance and stress resistance of plants also increases, and this contributes to the fact that they are less likely to be exposed to fungal, bacterial or viral infections, and when attacked by insects and pests, they can easily transfer them without losing their strength and, what is the most most importantly, without losing the ability to bear fruit and development.
Thus, yeast is an additive that has the potential to become one of the most effective fertilizer for peppers. They can be fertilized and fed with yeast about three times a season, but given that the yeast is completely safe and environmentally friendly, more frequent feeding will not cause any significant harm to the plants. The choice of the volume of the yeast solution entirely depends on the amount of seedlings, in general, peppers are very loyal to all the components that are contained in yeast, they perfectly perceive and send them to the green, leaf-stem part, as well as to the root system. Yeast is extremely effective as a top dressing, you just need to follow some rules, which are associated with the fact that yeast sometimes suppress some components. In general, thanks to yeast, the grower can get a more abundant and richer harvest, and this is a fact proven by researchers and other gardeners.
