If you need to enhance the biological activity and effect of compost in your garden, then you need to use horny flour. It is rich in nitrogen (more than 10%) and is absorbed by plants much faster than horn shavings. Bone meal is a very valuable fertilizer. It contains nitrogen (up to 5%), phosphorus (up to 22%), calcium (30%). Bone meal is used as a fertilizer for feeding plants, shrubs and trees no more than 3 times a year.
But you should be careful in meat flour from other species contains a large amount of protein (more than 50%), which in turn can lead to the appearance of harmful insects that feed on carrion. Therefore, it is recommended to use it for composting.
