The unusual strength of a regular daisy
Content:
An amazingly gentle and modest plant is the daisy. Its cute, discreet flowers, scattered over the emerald green grass, look amazing. And they also have hidden healing power, so they can be beneficial for our health.
Daisy: grown from seed
If you want blooming plants in the first year, sow daisy seeds in late winter or early spring. Seedlings will appear quickly, but I advise you to supplement the seedlings. In April, you can transfer the seedlings to a light loggia.
If you don't want to mess with seedlings, sow seeds directly into the ground in the summer. Dense shoots in September can be planted. It is not necessary to insulate young plants before cold weather. However, I always cover them with spruce branches - suddenly the winter turns out to be little snow and frosty. The next year, daisies bloom in May.
Collection of raw materials
Daisy inflorescences are harvested throughout the entire flowering period. Dry in a dark ventilated area. Then they are laid out in paper bags and stored for no more than two years.
Daisy: medicinal properties
The organic acids found in daisy flowers, as well as essential oils, saponins, flavonoids and inulin, have a healing effect. The plant was used in the Middle Ages for the treatment of rheumatism, bronchitis, fever, edema, hypertension, gastritis, liver diseases, and also as a sedative. Outwardly, they made compresses from a decoction of daisy for inflamed wounds, pustular skin diseases, and acne.
