Kvamoklit mine description
Kvamoklite is subject to everyone, however, it is cultivated quite rarely. But the plant is worthy of greater fame in cultivation in suburban areas. Herbaceous forms many stunning flowers that adorn the landscape at the end of the summer season and autumn, before the arrival of cold weather.
This representative of herbaceous crops is nowadays referred to the Ipomoea family, and the plant is called Ipomoea lobed. It is still not uncommon to find a plant under the old name - Mina Lobatta (Kvamoklit mina). Herbaceous grows naturally in the tropical regions of Central and South America, where it can produce the flowering process all year round. In the Bindweed family, this plant is a fairly close relative of the purple variety, but its unusual flowers differ from the large open funnel-shaped flowers usual for this kind.
The plant is the most neat, with thin, brown and pinkish branches at the same time, extending at an acute angle from the central branch. Under natural conditions, this plant, growing for several years, grows up to five hundred centimeters. However, herbaceous does not grow for long. In temperate climates it is cultivated as an annual plant, it grows up to two hundred - three hundred centimeters. Spinning around the support with branches.
The foliage, indeed, is quite similar to the purple variety - very large, three-lobed. Sometimes they are compared to the wings of a soaring hawk, and flowers are compared to thousands of burning candles, because in the distance it seems so. Indeed, the tips of the flowers shine through in sunlight, thereby resembling tongues of flame. The inflorescences, in which flowers of various colors are placed along the axis, are very similar to fireworks.
Small flowers in tubes from two and a half to five centimeters long are placed in clusters of nine to twelve copies on each side of the branch, and twitch from each blow of the wind, like a weather vane. Flowers in an inflorescence open from end to top. Initially, the flowers are dark reddish in color, eventually changing color to orange, then to creamy yellowish and almost snow-white. Elongated snow-white stamens peep out of the flower by the end of the flowering process. For the specific arrangement of flowers and the corresponding color, the herbaceous was named "Spanish flag".
The flowers do not emit aroma, but they are full of nectar, which attracts butterflies. The herbaceous flowering process starts from the second summer month, with the arrival of frost, the foliage acquires a red color, competing with the inflorescences in beauty.
There is a variety with paler flowers.
Kvamoklit mine cultivation
Like all plants that love warmth and grow for one year, this representative of herbaceous crops is cultivated using the seed and seedling method.
Seed material should be planted a month and a half before the planned planting in the soil, not earlier than the second week of the second spring month. Planting is recommended to be carried out in separate containers with soil nine centimeters wide by half a centimeter deep. Seed material is similar in appearance to nasturtium seed and must be handled identically. It would be good to place the seed in a warm liquid for twenty-four hours or twelve hours, and then plant it. It is recommended to grow with additional heating, at a temperature of plus twenty to twenty-four degrees.
Seedlings are formed after about fourteen days (some - after twenty-one days and more) and develop rapidly, after some time, the herbaceous needs to be supported. It is forbidden to plant seedlings in fresh air until the onset of the summer season, until the night cold ends.
When landing on a permanent site, a space of thirty centimeters is measured.
This is a short day herbaceous, like most of the herbaceous from South America. Produces the flowering process in the second summer month, three months immediately after germination of the seed.
Herbaceous is still well bred using cuttings, but this method is not often used.
Kvamoklit mine landing and care
The landing site should be suitable for grassy, warmth-loving, and tropical arrivals. The plant can withstand temperatures in the winter season up to minus five degrees, additional heating is required, a sheltered area under sunlight.
The soil must be chosen based on the preferences of the plant. Select the soil chalky or neutral, sandy. Too rich soil for grassy is not suitable.
The optimal temperature regime for growth is plus twenty-four degrees, at night it reaches at least plus sixteen - eighteen degrees. At a lower temperature index, the growth of herbaceous is stopped.
Moisture and moisture levels are considered the main prerequisites for excellent herbaceous growth. It is advised to sprinkle herbaceous on hot days. However, it is forbidden to perform this procedure in rainy weather.
The herb needs a sufficient amount of moisture. But the soil must be kept moist, but not damp, otherwise rot is likely to develop. It is advised to cover the soil near grassy with a layer of mulch, for example, from compost, to maintain water and prevent weeds from growing.
Fertilization should be done with liquid mineral fertilizers every fourteen days. Pay attention to the development of the plant. Plants with an overabundance of fertilizers do poorly flowering, directing development towards the formation of new greenery. For young herbaceous plants, they acquire top dressing with an excessive amount of nitrogen, and closer to the time of flowering, they change it to fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium.
Application
According to the stages of growth, half of the foliage from the lower part of the herbaceous is discarded, with a lack of nitrogen. To hide this drawback, the lower part is decorated with other herbaceous ones.
This herbaceous plant can also be cultivated in suspended containers, but it must be taken into account that the lashes are formed elongated and weigh a lot, which means take care of the strength of the support.
Kvamoklit mine can produce the flowering process up to sixteen to nineteen weeks, but, in the fresh air, the flowering process ends before the arrival of frost.
At the end of the winter season, the grassy one should be pruned (the lower shoots become woody), then the young shoots again form a beautiful cascade. And pruned branches can be used on cuttings.
Few people know that this plant is a wonderful herbaceous cut, its inflorescences stunningly facilitate flower arrangements from massive dahlias. The pruning can be in the liquid for a week. To keep the flowers in the water more, the tips of the stems are placed in boiling water for twenty seconds.
