Long-leaved red currant has an average ripening period. It was bred in the Far East at the Research Institute of Agriculture of N. A. Bolonyaeva-Favorskaya. In order to obtain this variety, she crossed the Pomeranian champion and the Boskopian giant. In 1959, this variety was included in the State Register of varieties that are suitable for use in the Far East region.

Bush
Long-leaved red currant bush can be called vigorous, it is dense, slightly spreading. Young shoots are thin, they are painted in a light green slightly grayish color. On the shoots there are large, strongly pressed oval buds. The shape of the leaf scar is rounded-wedge-shaped.
Leaves
The currant leaves of the Long-leaved variety are large, wrinkled, dark green, located on petioles of medium length. The base of the sheet has a shallow recess. The leaf teeth are wide and obtuse. The currant blooms with large white-pink flowers. Currant flowers are in the shape of a bowl, their sepals are colored green. The racemes are half drooping, reaching more than 10 cm in length. The petiole of the flower racemes is also long, not pubescent.
Berries
The berries are round in shape, their size is not the same, at the base they are larger, towards the end of the brush they become smaller and smaller. The berries taste sweet and sour, their palatability is estimated average. This variety is winter hardy, but often suffers from fungal diseases. The variety is self-fertile, the yield is moderate. From one bush of long-leaved currant, you can collect about 3-3.5 kg of berries.
