The parent varieties are "Clery" and "Darselect". The choice is strange, because genes have only partial similarity. The Jolie strawberry variety has nothing to do with remontant varieties, however, it bears berries for a fairly long time, about about the third week on the bushes, fruits begin to ripen, which are approximately the same size.

- High level of resistance to heat and drought, which contributes to the spread of this variety to the southern regions.
- There are no special requirements when choosing a growing area.
- A high level of frost resistance, which makes it possible to grow this variety on the territory of our country.
The average yield of Jolie strawberries is not a disadvantage, as there is also a smaller yield for hybrids. The productive qualities directly depend on the fertilizers applied to the soil and their quality.
Of the disadvantages of strawberry Jolie, one can mention the poor placement of peduncles under the foliage. Because of this, the fruits often get dirty, as they are on the ground itself. But strawberries have a high level of resistance to diseases, such as rot, which means that you should be wary of parasites and the deterioration of the appearance of the fruit due to dirt.
Strawberry Jolie: planting and care instructions
Jolie strawberries do not differ in the way they are grown from their counterparts. To begin with, carefully consider the choice of the correct territory for the further growth of the plant. The place should have a sufficient amount of sunshine, not have a lot of strong and cold winds, the acid level should be average in the ground. This variety is not a lover of very wet lands, we recommend creating a drainage layer.
The planting time of seedlings directly affects the rate of fruiting of the plant. When planting in the spring season, you should not even wait for good berries, only a couple of peduncles.
For abundant fruiting of Jolie strawberries, you should plant them in the summer season, the sooner the better. When using the whiskers obtained from their own bush with strawberries, planting is carried out at the end of the last summer month or at the beginning of the first autumn month. It is important that the bush is able to develop buds before the start of the winter season.
Plant pre-purchased seedlings at the beginning of the second summer month or at the beginning of the third summer month.
Prepare the area for garden strawberries well in advance. Place a small layer of humus or any other fertilizer on the ground, then dig the soil to a depth of about twenty-five centimeters. Prepare the landing pits.
Remember that the plant branches strongly, so the distance between the bushes should be twenty-five to thirty centimeters. Usually, there are four to five bushes of garden strawberries per square meter.
The earthen lump should be placed in the planting hole along with the seedling, cover it gently with non-wet soil and press down lightly. After all this, moisten the soil and mulch under the bush, such as peat, straw or sawdust.
Transplanting or initial cultivation under a dense film, in a greenhouse or greenhouse will help to harvest faster.
What is the care of Jolie strawberries:
- Apply mineral and organic fertilizers to the ground in the process of flowering and fruiting, from about the second spring month. Chlorosis (disease) is formed on strawberries with a lack of nutrients, we recommend using mullein, ash, humus.
- Strawberry Jolie prefers a normal level of moisture in the soil, it is recommended to purchase or make your own drip irrigation system. Usually, one square meter accounts for about ten liters of warm and settled water.
- In the fall, they prune old or damaged parts of the bush.
- Trim off any extra mustache from the strawberry as it sucks life out of the plant.
- Before the onset of frost, mulch the soil.
- Purchase Bordeaux fluid to fight various parasites and diseases.
Strawberry Jolie: reviews of gardeners

- Valeria Viktorovna, Moscow region: “At my neighbor I saw a bush that was quite large in height and asked what it was. Said Jolie strawberry and gave seedlings. The berries are just a feast for the eyes, they shine, red, juicy, sweet. My land is bad on the site and I had to ask my son to dig it up with humus. My strawberry Jolie bore fruit in a year. I would like to note a very large number of berries, ease of care and a beautiful view. And the inconvenience to me is the constant application of fertilizer and the fact that he gets sick with rot in the rains. "
- Andrey Stepanovich, Leningrad region: “I fell in love with the Jolie strawberry variety for the taste. The taste is simply amazing, the strawberry is sweet and sour at the same time, and it also has a pleasant berry smell. I also want to note that the Jolie strawberry variety does not require complex and special care, there is basic care, which I adhere to, and the harvest is excellent. "
